A New (Physical) Way to Accept Money
I grabbed a copy of this month's Entrepreneur magazine and read an article, titled "Start a Business for Nothing - Or Almost Nothing". It listed several services one can use to increase productivity while cutting costs.
The service mentioned in my title is called "Square". Even though this is more relevant to offline sales, I thought it was interesting and wanted to share it.
What Square allows you to do, is to accept credit cards without the hassle of contracts, equipment and excessive transaction fees. There is still a 2.9% charge per sale, but that's still less than a lot of alternatives. Plus the hardware is free, which is comprised of a, you guessed it, Square device that plugs into your headphone jack (think iPhone/iPad).
Again, just thought it was a neat service and wanted to share it.
PS - The service is currently in Beta.
PPS - Created by ex-Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey.
