Market Samurai - What stats do you use?

Hi,
I found a posting on Bring The Fresh called "Just Do This" about market samurai stats to use and found it quite interesting.

Basically keyword phrases that should pop up on your radar should have:

Total Daily Searches: above 100
SEOC: less than 100 000
OCI: above 50%

I then sort by SEOTCR (smallest on top) and find a phrase that has a fair amount of searches vs the percentage of sites.

I've been following this but have a few queries.
  1. How many searches a day would you look for?
  2. What % of SEOTCR do you go for (i.e. what's the highest you'll go)?
  3. Some sites have a HUGE SEOC but I can then find phrases that have a very low SEOTCR, should I target those?
  4. Do you have an other suggestion?
Many Thanks

Here's what I do for each one:

    SEOT > 80
    PBR > 15
    SEOC < 30,000
    SEOV > 30

I saw these on a video somewhere and it makes sense to me. I think at 100,000 SEOC there is going to be some strong competition and you won't rank that quickly. Make sure to look at the SEO Competition tab and see how established the top 10 are.

I`m having a bit of a problem with understanding those green, yellow and red tabs. I mean what they generally mean:

      Red - hard
      yellow - medium
      green - low

But I don`t understand why some of the backlinks even though are more as a number than others, are still "low" as a colour tab.

I wouldn't use the SEOC/T values as anything more than a filter - if you must. You want to use the SEO Competition section to get the real analysis.

Look for top 10's dominated by pages with a PR0 to 3 and backlinks to the page of less than 20. Ideally the on-site SEO will be lacking too (All In Title, Desc, Head etc).
