Question about a text effect in web video...

In many internet marketing videos, like the ones from outsourceforce.com, there are some effects where the text flows across the screen and then seems to fly off the screen.

What software do they use to achieve these effects? Are there any tutorials available on the Internet?

Thanks for your time.

This is most likely accomplished with 1 of 3 softwares.

    1. Adobe Premier
    2. Sony Vegas
    3. iMovie (or some other MAC application)

You can't do this with Camtasia, CamStudio, or any screen recorder softwares that I am aware of.

What OS are you using? Google Video Editing software for that OS and you will find a few apps you can use to accomplish those effects. Or you could always pay someone on the WF to create this effect for you.

I appreciate your response. While I understand parts of the videos were probably created through a non-linear editing system, I thought maybe the text effects were produced through Powerpoint or something similar.

Powerpoint may do some slide-on, slide-off type
effects. I haven't used it but I have watched presentations
which were said to be made on Powerpoint that had some
    effects.

I looked at the site you mentioned and I couldn't see
    a video there.

    Action-movie-trailer type zooming "words-in-space" effects
tend to be done in Adobe premier, which handles 3-d
text effects. There are other solutions which can do slide
on text effects too. I can think of a few hacks with
Sony Vegas that can be used to do groovy stuff with
graphics or word graphics, making the content slide on,
fade in, grow from tiny to big, or vice-versa, and so
forth - but I have a software that does a lot of these
sorts of effects easily, called Visual Communicator,
    now owned by Adobe.

VC doesn't do the same stuff Premiere does, but it
does do some cool stuff, a bit cheezy-looking, but still
    pro-looking in a pro context.

The new version of Windows Movie Maker will now do a lot of that. You can download "Windows Live Movie Maker" for free from Microsoft. It's much better than the old 2.6 version of WMM.

Even if you are just experimenting with video, that is a good program to have. Especially for the price.

I use Adobe After Effects CS4 and it's pretty cool but it's expensive and there's a huge luring curve for some people who get started with After Effects.
