Clickbank Affiliates Not Getting Paypal Payment Commissions

by Dhira

We've all seen lots of threads about people not getting commissions or as much commissions as they should.

I think I "may" have found the culprit.

Since people can pay using paypal, I notice that paypal purchases are not tracked as commissions sales.
Has anyone tested this out and noticed this?
I have, and this is a huge huge potential problem and would explain many complaints...

No. I get commissions all the time from people that used Paypal.

I do think that there's a good amount of sales affiliates don't get credit for, but nobody knows the exact reason behind it.

I never had a problem but i won't doubt there are a ton of affiliates
not getting commission. If thats the problem then those people will
have to go to clickbank and report it.

I have commissions showing from purchases made using Paypal.

Also, I am just getting a product ready to launch at Clickbank and got a friend to test my payment system and it worked and he used Paypal for payment and everything got reported correctly.

You need to make five credit card sales with at
least one VISA and one MasterCard before you
can get paid. Paypal payments don't count
        towards the five

That's probably why people are not getting paid

As for buying through your own link, it is technically
        against the rules.

You may want to check the vendor's sales page and see if the link to Paypal is a separate link that bypasses the Clickbank payment page. That is pretty unethical for the vendor to do it that way, but not out of the question.

The commissions should still accumulate and be reported, though the affiliate will not receive the payment until that threshold is met.

Buying through your own link is not technically against the rules with Clickbank (unless they changed their rules in the last week or so), but may be morally wrong by some people.

From the past few months, my sales have dropped in clickbank. But the traffic I am sending there has increased. Could this be one of the reasons? if so, then we all need to collectively report this to clickbank. I have tried to email them but they have not given much cooperative response. They just said that their tracking and everything is normal.

Dhira, did you report to clickbank the problem you tested? I think if we do this collectively, there might be some response from them inshaAllah .

    Hi everyone,

Another problem with Clickbank is that they charge United Kingdom purchasers
a 17.5% Value Added Tax, whether you purchase on the Clickbank side or use
Paypal. However, purchasing through a purely Paypal system no VAT is
charged. As neither company are resident in the UK, I do not understand how
one can justify charging VAT while the other does not. I have tried to check
up on the VAT Reg No Clickbank quote, but cannot find out if it is a legit
number or not, but to be honest I am doubtful (but do not have proof).

For myself, I try wherever possible NOT to buy through a Clickbank/Paypal
payment system. I usually contact the seller and ask for a separate Paypal
point to purchase through, thereby saving myself the 17.5% (which adds
    up over a few purchases).

Another problem with Clickbank/Paypal [purchase system is that they do not
allow purchasers to use all the credit cards that Paypal themselves accept.
I myself use a debit card that Clickbank themselves do not accept, and will
not always accept even if I try to pay through the Paypal side of their system.
So sellers are being done out of sales by Clickbank not accepting all the
c.cards, and also possibly by charging extra to some purchasers in the form
    of sales taxes.

Just a few thoughts on Clickbank practices.

    I do not use them.

you mean separate paypal purchases or paypal purchases through clickbank?

Mind you that any vendor can have multiple payment gateways, its quite common that someone has a normal clickbank checkout page and one for paypal - eg. for WSOs

Clickbank having affiliate commission issues?.... Never!

On a more serious note... I've just checked mine and as far as I can see, Paypal sales are still being recorded.. so no problem here.

But we know from previous experience that these ...errr... "problems" are usually very isolated, and not usually across every clickbank account.

Of course, that is if we assume that these problems do actually exist, which for the sake of this argument we will say that they do

I have plenty of paypal purchases that come back to me as commission through clickbank. Too many people are STILL freaking out over sales gaps or off days that have nothing to do with the merchant or clickbank. I promise y'all if it wasn't clickbank, there would be something else for IM'ers to complain about..."oh my payment method is stealing from me".

I totally agree. Just because sales drop off there must be something wrong with Clickbank? What a joke. You guys need to get real and be careful about accusing Clickbank of stealing commissions - that's quite a serious accusation.

Just because you made x amount of sales last week does not mean you will make x amount of sales this week. If that were the case then you would continue making the same amount of sales each week until the day you die? Not likely. Sales are going to drop off eventually.

I had a friend check mine last night and payment was recorded.
I agree with Babyface Assassin/JayXtreme that these problems
are isloated and not across every clickbank account.

Alexa and Greg, thank you for correction on
buying through your own link. Things have
changed since they said you couldn't. Well,
that was the impression I got back then

I have seen that done as well as Vendors making
free offers that lead to products sold through
other services. The Clickbank product in these
cases is just really there to get free traffic.

While, there is nothing wrong with using Clickbank
to build a buyer's list through inexpensive products,
the affiliate driving the traffic should be compensated

Yes this is pretty much worries me a lot...

I guess I should stick with Amazon and other affiliate program for the time being.. its not like Clickbank is the only one out there.. but they have a variety of products to promote that it is such a shame if this is true.
