What Do You Consider Good Traffic to a Website?

I have built around 7 websites, some promoting ClickBank products and other promoting Amazon products. I am tracking them through Google analytics and i am averaging about 10 to 15 visits a day (at the most)

Keep in mind, i am only using free methods, I was just wondering do other warriors see similar traffic or is my traffic a joke?

I would love to hear what kind of traffic you guys are getting with free methods and also keep in mind these sites are less than 6 months old.

Thank you.

If it is the only way of traffic that you get from search engines (e.g: no posted links on related niche forums etc.), you can consider the numbers stated above as "fairly moderate" (of course depends on your niche search quantity and some other facts).

you might wanna do some SEO and find sites that are in your niche to get some referral traffic. IMO, good traffic is somewhere between 25k to 50k a day. After that, it's really getting popular.

Right i understand that fully believe me( targeted traffic). I used to have 15 twitter accounts and was spamming the heck out of it. That is actually how i started the Twitter Traffic Machine. I am ashamed to say that.

Did not know i was spamming at the time. I was clueless, but it opened doors to other things, article writing, blogging..etc.

If you were selling computers and getting visitors from engines, articles, blogs, socials, etc., then I'd say it was a little low.

    Hi,

    It depends on your goals?

If you are trying to earn an extra $200-300 a month then that traffic would be adequate. But if you are trying to earn $2000-$3000 + then obviously that is not enough traffic.

Free traffic can send you plenty of traffic. But in order to achieve it, your websites and articles/videos have to rank well for the right keywords and you have to produce good content.

    Hope this helps

Well my goals are to build 50 sites promoting Amazon and a couple ClickBank products. I would love to work up to 50 visitors a day to each site eventually. I think i could make a good income that way.

      50 visitors to 50 sites a day=2,500 x 30 days =75,000 visitors

What do you think? (assuming these are targeted visitors)

I think that you should focus on one site at a time. Too many people give the bad advice of starting with dozens of sites. You can't possibly put the right amount of effort into dozens or hundreds of sites. However, if you focus on one site, then you will be able to give it the care it needs to grow in traffic and profit.

    E. Brian is 100% right, my success did not take off till I dropped all my sites but one. After that I grew out but I have never let it get past 5 sites at once.

As for your question; 20k-100k your site will be a healthy growing. I have had sites that did 30k uniques and another that did well over 300k uniques and they made the same amount in revenue. Don't worry keep it going and it will grow, you have a good start.

Yeah that is a great goal. In fact that is exactly what I have done. I built clickbank, cpa, adsense and amazon niche sites and drive traffic to them. I currently have over 50 ranking in the top 5 on google.

If you are able to achieve these rankings then your goal is completely possible. A large number of people are making good money from this simple business format.

The key however is to focus on building and ranking your sites and driving a good amount of targeted traffic first before you go on and create tons of other sites. Otherwise you will get overwhelmed and not make much money. (Trust me on that one ).

I would also drive traffic from articles, videos, press releases, forums etc whilst my search engines rankings increase. This will allow you to make money a lot quicker.

I would also recommend that you stay focused and write a plan of action out each day. Then tick off each step. This helped me to monitor/track my progress as well as keep me focused and on track.

Let me know if you have any more questions.

      I agree completely

Building too many sites quickly can do more harm than good. I like to create and drive traffic to my sites in blocks of 5 at the most.

  • One way of getting website visitors is pay per click advertising with sources such as AdWords. Adwords allows you to bid on specific keywords that are relevant to your landing page, and direct people that are searching for those keywords to your website.

Blog commenting is also a good way of getting increased website traffic that's targeted. Advertise yourself and be followed by thousands of people

I can tell you I pretty much focused on one site, content wise and link wise. I got about 100-200 high PR pages pointing to it from web forums, blogs, newspapers etc. Both Yahoo and G. count 1,300 links pointing to one particular page on my site.

Just on links I worked for 2 full months, a whole March and April. I moved from position G.40+ to average position G.5 for 15 most important phrases in my niche. Those 15 phrases should bring a share in 40,000 local monthly searches.

And guess what. My traffic rose from 20 to 35 per day. But sales actually dropped. Last month site made $45. To say that I am totally disappointed, would be understatement. And site really rocks. At a beginning of the month, whey buyers have money ready in their pockets, site converts above 10-15% visitors into cash. Average visitor visits more than 2.5 pages. So all the elements are there, except the money.

I really thing SEO is dead end.

    Shannon,

Good traffic is any traffic that leads to, or could potentially lead to a purchase decision. Period.

Case in point: I have a linkshare affiliate page for the Jillian Michaels weight loss program. I get from 100 to 300 visits per day, but guess what? I have only sold a couple of units. Why?

Well, I happened to find a photo of Jillian when she was 17 and quite a bit larger than she is now. That photo is almost impossible to find on the internet believe it or not - she has done a good job destroying all of the evidence.

But I have it - and so I have lots of traffic, but it is crappy traffic because it does not lead to buying decisions. These are just people who want to see a fat Jillian Michaels.

I would rather have 15 people visit that page a day and have 5 of them buy, than what I have now.

That is the difference plain and simple.

(and yes, for those of you want to see it, here it is: Hard To Find Blog Archive Jillian Michaels: The Biggest Loser Program ).

That's about what I get right now, with one site. But I'm using Google Adwords and I paid for another backlink on another site that helps with traffic. I also use free methods like Ezine Articles.

10-15 per day, meaning 300-450 people per month. If you get a 2% conversion rate, you'll make around 7-10 sales a month.

Scale it up, and keep creating more sites. 150-300+ people per day will do well for you. It largely depends on the conversion rate and how targeted your site is.

    Hundreds/Daily at least.

The problem is you need to take conversion rates/hops per sale into account....i have a nice "micro niche" site now getting 200/UV per day...but this is still only 1 avg sale per day if you think about how often it takes 100 hops to get a sale! (and HOP means they are already checking out the offers.)

    It comes down to:

    1) Nr. of UVs your site gets
    2) Nr. of actual visitors on your site who are checking out your offers
    3) Nr. of people who check your offers AND ACTUALLY BUY

This way, even 1000/UVs/day doesnt look that sensational.

you should stick to one method and master it

from your numbers, i will suggest you put a little extra work and create small videos to promote your site. Within a week you can get 50 visitors a day per site with consistent and efficient videos posting
also, don't overdo it with automation tools, better go slow, you get traffic for years

there are some tools to create videos from articles, and tools to create account + upload to major videos sites

this is my actual favorite free traffic method

also, conversion is a big factor so be sure to have effcient preselling in place before running after traffic.

    my 2 cents

Just make sure you focus on the quality of traffic as ultimately the number you are measuring is sales. I would much rather have 10 visitors a day and convert 2, than 100 and convert 1. Quality AND quantity matter!

        Hi,

I've tried alot of different methods, but a friend of mine said "don't think, do!" and what I've done is to focus 90% on one site and the rest 10% I work on building new sites.

I've seen you in the thread about "how I made $60k... on Amazon" and I am following his advice of going VERY slow when it comes to backlinks because I'm in it for the long run and I do not want to do anything that might upset Google.

I have one site that gets about 10 visitors/day on average and last month it earned me $150. This was the first site that I made where I spent alot of time doing keyword research and it paid off. This month this site has made me $100 so far and its only the 12th day of the month so many days left until this month is over.... (site is 6 weeks old)

One thing that really made a difference for one of my sites was to upgrade the "update services" list in wordpress (admin-settings-writing). Do a search for "best update service lists" and just copy-paste the whole list.

        Good luck to you all!

        Cheers

        Jute
