Business that never reply to email?

Hi

Have you ever tried to get answers via email and been left sooo frustrated you could scream?

I have a business I am J.V'ing with but 15 days after eamilnig a bunch of very important questions to I am still waiting for a reply to them. Yes they got them as they have answered some email from me. But not the important stuff.

I keep asking for a reply to my questions. I am told "later, too busy, or simply nothing"

Sometimes I'll send a 4 paragraph email trying to clarify some important points....I get about 4 words back at the most...... Never answering my questions. How can you in 4 words. Often it takes them 3+ working days to even reply. And some times upto one week. When they do they seem to have by-passed all my previous questions. It's as if they simply resfuse to entertain the thought of answering emailed questions.

Can there be any excuse for this in this day and age? I am seriously thinking about cutting my losses and running from them. I can't fathom out why their replies are so late and without any answers.

Do some companies refuse to answer question via email? If so, I wish they would tell me. I know some people (for whatever reason I cannot work out) refuse to communicate via email and will simply tell me to phone. But they do not even do this.

I am frustrated here and massively confused as to why they act like this. Any ideas?

Well they know who I am and have no problems replying to some email from me....I am not their average customers etc.. We have an agreement in place etc.....

I think I'll take this a sign of their customer support (LOUSY) and leave them be. I wish they hadn't have wasted my time though.

Doesn't sound like much of a JV. Sounds like you are just one of MANY affiliates.

Exactly my thought. The term "JV" is thrown around much too loosely these days. A "Joint Venture" is where each partner plays an important role in the business.

If you are simply an affiliate promoting the business, you're just one of thousands replaceable marketers.

sloanjim, Are you truly a Joint Venture partner? If so, and the other partners aren't communicating with you, it's time to move on.

Indeed. There are affiliates who think it is a JV arrangement when they promote someone's products.

No they have no affiliates F.Y.I. It is a J.V. Thanks

If you are simply an affiliate promoting the business,
And there are people replying to genuine questions that think they know it all. OK leave it.....

Hate to burst your bubble, but if the other partners in this "JV" are not communicating with you, then you are not a Joint Venture partner. Sorry.

This is supposed to be a "joint" venture, but it sounds like you are the only part of the joint that is moving. If you can't get a simple email response from your partner, then what makes you think that he will do his part in the venture? Maybe it is time to find a new partner.

My number 1 pet peeve is people that think their time is more valuable than mine. When potential tenants were late, I would tell them to kiss off because if they were not able to appreciate my time for an appointment, do you think they were going to pay rent on time? Same lesson applies here. Do you think the JV is going to appreciate your time later when payments are made to you?

I have no agenda but to help those in the same situation. This I feel will pay the bills.

A J.V. is a business deal. Plain and simple.

You're forming a partnership with another business to do something that is mutually beneficial. If they aren't living up to their end of the business deal, maybe it's not such a good one, eh?

Sorry you are going through a frustrating time. It stinks when deals go bad.

If you are promoting for them, consider if it's really worth the potential revenue.

If they are promoting for you, consider that they likely won't produce much in the way of results come launch day.

Evaluate it, then refocus your energy to something more productive.

Email is an effective way to bypass uncomfortable questions, or questions that are easy to back-burner when you are in crisis mode. Just pick the one part of a 4 paragraph email that you can easily answer and respond to that, ignoring everything else.

This happens everywhere in business, and even with family and friends. The way I've learned to make email an effective business communication medium is to keep the questions short - 1 per email. Then they have the choice of answering your question or not. If they do not, then call them on the phone. Eventually they will wish they'd just answered the email, once they learn you won't let it go.

This works for me every time. Of course it's not necessary for a lot of people, but for the hard cases, it works like a charm.

If they won't take your calls, it's time to dump 'em.
