Are you really into what you do or just do it for money?

Hi guys.

I love what I do, but I also enjoy getting money from it. Sometimes I get frustrated because the money isn't that good. In moments like that I wonder if I should just create a ****-ass service just to get the money, or should I do my job with quality and trust that money will come naturally.

There are always shortcuts to get results fast, but my whole life I just don't believe in shortcuts as they usually cost you more in the long-run. The problem is that patience is running out. I wish they sold patience in pharmacies, I'd go and buy some now. lol

    Hello,
I have started many hobbies that I like into making money, I have used that to further my hobby along.
Is that a bad thing, I really do not think so.

I love helping others to help themselves. This is the primary reason that I do this, however making money is also alot of fun to me. Like others, I love what I do and love getting paid to do something I love.

There are so many ways to make money online and offline that there is no reason that you do something you do not love...there is always a way to match enjoyment with a business model or concept. I believe that's really the secret to medium term (not just short-term) success.

I think I enjoy marketing my sites a lot more than making them, however, I am doing this as a means to an end. I want do be able to fund my other projects that are not IM based. It has however helped me immensely when it came to writing.

I have noticed that writing my stories/scripts/whatever you want to call them has gotten a lot easier the last few months because of all the writing I have to do for my sites. I think it is all relative to what you are interested in and going from there.

Shortcuts make things harder on you in the long run. If you're desperate for money train your mind to attract it. This takes discipline but is well worth the effort.

If you're in a rush to do something you push away that which you want. Money is a perfect example. Short-cut type marketing tactics and programs never bring positive results. Maybe you can receive a few bucks in the near term but in the long run you'll pay.

Focus on creating in the form of running a blog, writing articles and helping fellow online entrepreneurs in this forum and money will find its way to you. People want to help someone who creates for others and often this help takes financial form.

I know it's popular to say 'do what you love and the money will follow'.Reality however is that if you have a family and do not live on credit, you have to do what pays the bills while doing what you love on the side. When the that additional income becomes consistent enough for you to feel confident, then take the leap.

I believe having at least a years income saved up for emergencies before quitting a steady income job is a smart approach. I know it's not popular, but reality is a significant number of new business don't make it. Let's forget the hype.

I love what I do but I wouldn't do it if it didn't also pay the bills.

If people really did it for the love, they would do it for free with no expectations of money.

I do it purely to make cash.
The OP was do you love what you do and that does not automatically mean that everyone here is purely an affiliate or Internet Marketer. I am only an Internet Marketer in that I market my own products, after creating them ... and I do make a lot of money and I do love what I do.

There are plenty of people here who make money and who love what they do and there are plenty with skills other than Internet Marketing.

    Good question

I think there are aspects of it that are soley for paying the bills

But I do like the creative part of the process, i.e coming up with new ideas for driving traffic to affiliate websites, tackling new markets, developing new products etc.

    I do it for both

Love doing what I'm doing, love helping people make money, and love making money in return. It's a vicious cycle and I cannot stop!

Best of all I enjoy those who buy a product of mine, or even sign up to one of my free websites and go out of their way to thank me - that's when I know I'm doing good.
