7 Advanteges Of Using Viral Reports For Traffic

I'm amazed by how many people don't use viral reports to get traffic to their websites...

Here's some of the biggest advantages:

1 they can include any content you want including links where ever you want
2 they can be submitted to some pretty powerful sites with no moderation or requirement of any kind
3 they have a higher perceived value than articles
4 other people will pass them around if you give good content and giveaway rights
5 You can reuse them as many times as you want
6 You can use them to build your list
7 You can use them to sell multiple affiliate products

This all sounds well and all, however, you have to do
a pretty good job actually motivating people to share your report.

It's a very rare case of when people share your stuff out of pure
    quality of the content...

So far, I failed to create such a report, maybe there are
some handy guides on how to do that?

yeah, you can use twitter, forums, contact a bunch of list owners... it's just a matter of getting it out there - it's takes effort to make it go viral

The easiest way to create them is with open office

You can get people motivated to spread your report by allowing them to brand your report with their affiliate links. If you've got a membership site, allow members to brand their report with their clickbank/paydotcom ID and you watch them spread it!

Better still, package your report as a full mini-site with master resell rights. The more effort you put in your master resell rights products, the more people will sell it, and the more permanent your backend traffic will be.

I've got several MRR products floating around the net and they continue to bring in traffic, and signups for that matter every single day. So far I'm totally ~50-80 new subscribers every single day from viral marketing. It's just a case of reptition.

Another tip is to use a tell-a-friend script. When someone comes into your site, offer something for free, i.e. a report, then offer them another free but valuable gift for telling their friends. If you provide real value from your free report, and real value in your tell-a-friend gift, they will share with pleasure.

If you want to take it a step further, add a one-time offer into the mix after they've told their friends. This can be a collection of 5-10 of your existing products available for one low combined price. Whether they buy or not, allow them to promote your viral site as an affiliate and give them 75-100% commission!

Following on from that, you can embed your affiliate's link into the tell-a-friend form, this really gets them motivated to promote!

Here's what I find works best when getting others to promote your product...

    1. Give high commissions - 75-100% or more.
    2. Included one-time offers, downsells, and upsells in your sales sequence to make sure your affiliate gets commissioned on as many possible purchases.
    3. Give instant payout commissions - the RAP script lets you do this with PayPal.
    4. Try to include a recurring payment in your offer so affiliates get paid again and again month after month. If you can't dedicate yourself to a lifetime subscription and creating new content, then create a fixed term, 6 month/12 month membership.
    5. Embed your affiliate's IDs into a tella-a-friend form so their links get passed around.
    6. Provide articles, email signatures, autoresponders, brandable reports, reviews, mini-sites, PPC ads, banners and other tools so your affiliates can start promoting your site straight away!

That's all off the top of my head, point is I do a lot of viral marketing and very little SEO/link building/article marketing because the affiliate do this for me. Most of my business is completely dependant on affiliates selling my products for me. I either make my 25% on the front end, or on recurring payments, or on higher priced back-end products through my auto-responder.

It may sound like a lot of work, but it really pays off. Nothing beats traffic coming from people promoting you! Once you got the system set up, it's all downhill from there.

    Jeff,

Do you usually rebrand the reports with affiliate links or do you just give them straight up to list owners b/c the content is good?

    Cheers,

    Brad

@TipTopMarketer yup the 100% commission via RAP works awesome as well and it works great with giving away viral reports as well (if you own the 100% commission product)

@BradSpencer yup, rebranding will always increase the chance of other list builders promoting it... you should also have a link to your site along with some good content
