My first written article for IM

Hey everyone, I have been looking into writing some articles for a bit of cash. This would be my first article, I have ever wrote that is for IM. I would love to see some constructive criticism, or flaming what ever you would like to do on my first article. I wrote this in a quick 30 minutes. Remember this is my first article for the internet, I have done other articles in the past for other things. Here it is:
3 Tips for Improving your Vertical Leap
*Note-In order to be successful and consistent on your goal of improving your vertical jump, you have to not over do things. Try not to do vertical jump exercises more than 5 sessions a week. Anything more than 5 days a week you risk burning yourself out, or getting injured.*

While looking at your vertical leap try not to be discouraged when looking at others, as yours at the time may not be at its full potential. Anyone can improve their vertical leap. In this article, we'll go into 3 tips for improving your vertical leap.

Tip #1 Take Action- Not just a tip for improving your vertical leap, but also a tip for improving your life. A life lesson. After getting adequate knowledge for exercises on improving your vertical leap, don't waste time go straight into training! Taking action gets things done. You can read all the articles in the world about making your vertical jump higher, but in the end it won't help you unless you practice.

Tip #2 The Warmup- Before any exercise you should do proper warm ups, this includes stretches, jogging, jump rope, anything that warms up your muscles and prepares them for the exercise at hand. It is proven that warm ups will help your workout(this being your vertical leap), and complete fitness ability. Be sure for this to be a warm up and NOT a full exercise! The warmup while not looked as a critical step in fitness, is a key step in improving your vertical leap.

Tip #3 The Jumping Exercises- Before aimlessly jumping around attempting to improve your vertical jumping ability, you should attempt certain exercises that have been proven to help your vertical leap.
A few basic types of exercises include squats, lunges, toe raises, and step ups. These should be the foundation of exercises that you work on while improving your vertical leap.
I wrote about something that I did not know very well just to see if I could write about anything. Would you purchase this from me if I offered a content writing service? This article is ~300 words, so how much would this article sell for in a content creating service? Are there any errors? Is there anything I could improve on in my style of writing?

Thanks

dude, if you want people to review your article, i suggest you create a free blogger or wordpress account and post it to there. no one is gonna download a file from someone who just registered and only has 4 posts. this thread is too fishy, how do people know you're not passing along a virus?

Very true, like in the post I said it was a quick thing I did not put a lot of thought into getting the article out there.

The article itself isn't bad but it wouldn't be accepted at EZA due to the overuse of keywords - you have "vertical leap" 9 times in 300 words. If you're going to offer a service, you'll want to cater to EZA rules as that is where a lot of customers are going to want to use the articles.

Their rule is no more than 2% keyword density and that includes the resource box. The customer is going to want to put his keyword in the resource box so you should be keeping the density below 2% in order for them to do so.

Some customers will want a higher keyword density, of course, but if you're going to be selling your services to IMers, it would be a good idea to get familiar with EZA standards.

      Good luck,
      Tina

        Hey good article

I would say turn this into Tip 4 and move it to the end:

*Note-In order to be successful and consistent on your goal of improving your vertical jump, you have to not over do things. Try not to do vertical jump exercises more than 5 sessions a week. Anything more than 5 days a week you risk burning yourself out, or getting injured.*
You could use "Warning" instead of Note ... it may draw people straight towards the end of your article, which is good because that's where the link to your site will be.

Then for your link do something like this to tease people into visiting your site.

Next, to check out another 7 tips, including one incredible tip that will double the calories you burn click here

Or something along those lines ... it must be TRUE though and you must deliver on the promise on your landing page

    Good job.
If you are planning to promote your sites/products by article marketing, you can submit your articles to as many as article directory sites, which is a good way to gain more backlinks.

Thanks everyone! I am in class at the time of this writing I was going to reply when I got home, but seeing as so many people posted out very constructive critisms I am going to have to get on the computer and reply to everyone individually. Thanks everyone so much about the keyword density my father said the same thing about that this morning. I am looking forward to getting better at article writing, and creating a content/writing service.

If you are writing for your own sites, with some work you'll be ok. You have some idea of structure but the article is general content fodder.

That article is keyword stuffed (10 vertical leap - 4 vertical jump) your keyword density is about 10% - far too high.

This is a good start - but you seem to be planning to write for others for $$$ and you need more practice, knowledge of keyword usage, better sentence structure and improved punctuation.

Don't mean to be harsh - but to write as a paid service you have to hone your skills or resign yourself to writing for cheap prices. Would be better to increase your skill levels by writing a lot of content for your own sites and then try to make money doing it as a service.

Thanks kay that's what I mean I want to do a lot more writing mostly article cpa or something. How long do you think it will take before my skills are good enough to write for others? So is 2% the general rule for keyword in articles? Are there any good ebooks to help me on the article writing?

For an article of that size I would use keyword once in first paragraph - once in last paragraph and once in the middle (plus title, of course).

You have a good start and practice and proofreading for sentence structure will help you get better.

Your writing is probably as good or better than some lower cost content providers now. You write well in English - and that is a huge plus for you.

You don't need a book - just search for threads here by writers like TimG, Steven Wagenheim and about 3 dozen other people:p You'll find a lot of good advice.

Thanks everyone once again! Cjmo75 speacial thanks for the outline. What would be a good idea should I write another article, and post it straight to ezine? Or should I get a bit more practice before I post an article out to any directorys?

    Hey yes, It's nice.
You might need a conclusion though.
Search engines check begginnins and endings of articles. So make sure you use your keywords wisely in these most critical parts of your article.

Also, if you post on article directories such as ezinearticles.com, they'll regularly mail you with very useful tips on how to develop your article marketing skills. Read those.

    Anyways...nice article.

Dont start an article with a negative statement "-In order to be successful and consistent on your goal of improving your vertical jump, you have to not over do things. Try not to do...etc." Loads of negative words/thoughts.

Also, lead your article better. Perhaps a story about how you learned this or some weird situation it helped you with.
