WP is driving me crazy - help please!!!!

INTERNET MARKETING

Hi guys

I need some help/advise! WP has been driving me crazy for the last 3 hours.

I need to set-up a quick website - and I decided to use WP.

I need to carry out the following changes to the "home page":

1/ Get rid of the "May 6th, 2010 | Author: | Edit" at the top of the page;
2/ I want the page options at the top (Home, about us, disclosure & privacy policy) to be in black and bold - I want them to stand out more.
3/ I want to get rid of the "Posted in Uncategorized | Comments Closed" at the bottom of the page
4/ I want to get rid (or smaller font) for the following writing at the bottom of the page "Powered by WordPress and WordPress Theme created with Artisteer by BTMM"
5/ As you can see, for some reason some of the writing in the paragraphs are in the centre. I want them to the left, similar to the first paragraph.

I'm a bit new to WP, and would really appreciate any help/guidance on this!!!!!

Update on point 3 - I have now managed to sort it. It now says "Posted in Home | Comments Closed" is there a way to get rid of this, or minimize it????

Do you know CSS & XHTML? Cos if you don't know those I doubt you'll get very far. If you do all you gotta do is look in the source and see where the output for the items is. Then go into the theme files and remove according to what you need removed. Then edit CSS to style how you want it to be.

First off that theme was created in Artisteer so should be edited to suite your needs in that application.

But...

1) You can edit the template to remove the date,author, etc... Edit doesn't need to be removed necessarily since it will only show up to you being logged in as admin. If you logged out and viewed it like a normal user you wouldn't see it. But if you don't know anything about html/php code you may have some issues. You would need to go to appearance/editor in wordpress.

2) The options for color change on the links is in the style.css (access that from appearance/editor as well)

3) same thing

4) You will find that in the footer.php file

5) style.css file again

Do you have a copy of the theme on your desktop?
If so you will open it in notepad and edit the necessary parts.

I could do that for you in 30 minutes - but you don't need me to.

Go to Appearance>>Theme Editor

Page template will have the comments thing on it, style.css will have the header stuff so you can bold your menu. Everything you need is in there.

Don't remove the text at the bottom, that is part of the open license allowing you to use the theme for free - they could charge you for it, or ask you to take the site down, if you remove it.

Hi Jake here, This is my tiny little suggestion. If you don't mind some little hardwork and guidance, you can actually find keywords such as wordpress tutorial in youtube. It will simply give you tons of information on wordpress. Thank you.

Save money and time - go to Studiopress and get Genius - and a CMS template or buy developers pack. (At least you have access to all templates - good value)

The forum will tell you how to get rid of any stuff you don't want.
