Does Youtube Offer this to Everybody?

I got an email a few days ago from Youtube saying I might be eligible for the YouTube Partnership Program (revenue sharing), which allows me to make money from playbacks of a video of mine. At first I was flattered. But then a couple of days later, I got another one for a different video I have on Youtube. So now it's not so flattering. Seems maybe everybody gets the invitation. Anybody else getting this email lately?

  • Yeah, that is sent to those who have videos that hit a certain number of views within a certain time frame. You will get paid a small amount from clicks on those ads.

    • And here I thought it was because I made such great content filled videos!
  • You guys serious? How many numbers of views? Can the numbers be leaked?

    • What do you mean "leaked".

You can pay services to give you thousands of views on your videos, if that's what you meant. eBay has several people selling this service for really cheap.

  • I got one too. Tuesday I think.

That video had just clocked up around 20,000 views.
But I've got a bunch of others that have clocked up more - no word on those.

I applied to see what happened. Don't expect much.
  • Yes, but it only allows you to apply to the Partnership Program, it doesn't mean you are automatically in. Your video will be reviewed and then accepted.
