Recommendations Please - How To Pay Recurring Commissions to Affiliates

I'm not a newbie but I'd appreciate the benefit of other Warrior's experience on this specific area, even if you think the answer should be obvious to me..

Up to now (last 7 years or so) I've done affiliate marketing, physical product sales (PayPal shopping cart), AVS signups etc. for myself, and for offline clients I have built websites, done SEO services, given training & tech support, run PPC campaigns etc....

but...

Now I find myself in uncharted waters. I'm coming up to launch time for my first original info product. It's IM related and I'm wary of using Clickbank because of the possibility of commission theft. Almost everyone in IM has a Clickbank account and I'm sure many use their own hoplink when purchasing IM products unless they are given a huge bribe by the introducing affiliate to discourage it. Maybe these concerns are outdated, so if I'm wrong to feel this way please correct me. (BTW, it's not so I can keep 100%, it's so my genuine affiliates get to keep what's coming to them that I'm concerned - I am working on the assumption that I will pay commission on every sale, I just want it to go to the person that worked for it!).

Resources I currently have available to me are:- shared hosting (various), a 1shoppingcart Auto Responder account, which I would be happy to upgrade to Pro if it is the best solution, and a PayPal Business account since 2001 with a good seller reputation. I'm operating from Spain which means most merchant solutions are out if I can't use PayPal.

I have 2 products, an ebook and a membership site which gives me the option to sell the ebook and give one month free trial to membership site as a bonus OR sell the membership and give the ebook as a bonus (OR both). The content of each complements the other.

What I need advice on is, what are my options when it comes to making the whole affiliate management and commission payment thing work efficiently without too much involvement on my part.

The solution has to be something which would show to any potential affiliates or JV partners that I approach, that I am professional and they will get their commission, with no grey areas.

Any and all suggestions would be much appreciated, especially if you've either done something similar yourself or if you are an affiliate that can tell me what you would look for in a private (non-CJ, non-Clickbank) affiliate program and what would put you off.

Thanks
