Problems with Webmaster Keywords

I made a change to my navigation a month ago or so ago and it was a mistake - I added an everyday word (like "And") which in effect added that word to every single page of my website. And this word has nothing to do with my keywords, it diluted them.

When I looked on the Keywords in my webmaster account, I was shocked - it became my number 1 keyword!

I changed the navigation file right away, but the webmaster account still has that word as number 2, a month later. It's impossible. Not now. I've resubmitted my sitemap a couple of times. This has cost me my rankings for over a week. I got back on page 1, but I'm still not where I was. How can I get google to get rid of that word? Not to repeat myself, but I really don't think it's on my site anymore.

Should I resubmit my sitemap and change the "last updated" dates for all my files to today so google crawls the entire site again?

The word "And" is my #2 keyword wkith 3000 occurrences according to webmaster central. Why do you think it won't affect my rankings? I though it would for sure dilute the keyword density of my targeted keyword on the site. All my other, target keywords have moved down now.

Is there a way to refresh this crawl result other than what I've already done?

I already removed the word (it wasn't "And", that was just an example, say it was "today". You won't find that word any more.
