How I made $300 In 5 Days With Good Old Fashioned Techniques And It's Still Growing
I have been marketing on the Internet for about 2 years on and off but over the last 8 months I have made a serious effort to market on line. Last week I joined a new program that has just launched.

I have done my usual things to market the program set up a ppc campaign created a squeeze page with a free giveaway and I did something radical..... I asked for the subscribers telephone number....Phoned them up and sold some products.

It was fantastic being able to speak to different people around the world and helping them to hopefully make money with an online business...

I now have someone to talk to in this insular business..

Excellent post! Humans like to buy from humans. It has worked for thousands of years and I suspect it will continue to be effective for a few more. This also points out the often overlooked difference between marketing and selling.

I sold medical supplies online for a few years. I did really well, but things changed dramatically when I added a telephone field to one of my squeeze pages. My close rate was too unbelievable to even post here.

Fantastic effort there @msfunding. Well done.

Keep a check on the quality of your prospects throughout though. The higher the quality of your subscribers, the better your conversion rate.

    A Few Important Tips:

    1. Try and capture as little detail from your prospects as possible, maybe just restrict it to Email Address and that's it. People are usually quite hesitant towards giving out too many personal details, and it doesn't affect your Optin rate one bit if you ask for something as simple as just an email address.

    2. Make sure you regularly communicate with your subscribers (paid or non-paid) to gauge their willingness to buy your products or services at a later date. You're better off without subscribers who only enlist to get freebies ALL the time. Yes, giving away free items is a very good practice and builds customer confidence in you and your offerings, but there is that small contingent of freeloaders who's only task in life is to haggle with you for free and free stuff only, and are not good customers to keep in the long run.

    Keep up the great work.

    To Your Success,
    Angelina

      Hi Angelina

My conversion rate on my landing page before I asked for their Tel. No. was 44.8% currently its running at 33.5%. So have to agree that there is a reduction when asking for additional info.

But I think its worth it. Its fantastic talking to people about internet marketing.. But it is important that you balance time and money issues. You could not take this approach if you commission is low...its always a case of "horses for courses"

    Great stuff!

I cant emphasize this enough: There are no secret techniques or newly discovered methods of marketing and whatnot. Theres also no need to re-invent the wheel. The same stuff that has worked for me for the last few years STILL works today ... all you gotta do is buckle down and actually DO the work.

Then you're laughing all the way to the bank.

Any questions, drop me a line!

      Msfunding..

      Great!

The only way to make it big in the online marketing industry is to extend the business that is already working on you. For example, if one adsense working for you, then grow it to a level wherein you can generate more income by creating multiple adsense sites. Just an example though...

So, it is all about generating that one single $$ and then expanding the same thing rapidly.. All the best.

I read this exact same subject line and Thread on DP...?

    You the same person?

Anyway, take your online business, offline, and take your offline business, online.

Communication is key. Build a relationship first, if you can, then talk business.

Glad to hear of your success. But, the minute I'm asked for MY phone number, I'm outta there.

I'm so sick & tired of getting phone calls from day break to sun down from folks who "understand you're looking for...."

    Nice Job.

It works, and I know it does because I used to be in
Direct Sales before I knew I needed to learn how to
    market effectively.

I'm not the best at it, but now...with $250, $500,
$2000+ commissions. It couldn't be easier. But talking
    on the phone is key.

Also, it helps if you have a nice sum of money to
hold you over so your not desperate for a sale.

You want to come off as confident and truly wanting
to solve their problem. And, the OP is dead on, the
close ratio is unbelievably high when you get on the
    phone.

Thanks for bringing this up to everyone (and my) attention

Just wanted to post an update:

As a result of picking up the phone and working my on-line business in a different way I have made over a $1000 in my first month and this has come from several sources.

The bulk of my income has been derived from my main business but a proportion of my income has been derived from affiliate programmes that I offer, a training programme and a few esentials such as Aweber, GoDaddy & Hostgator.

I have never received any significant sign ups to these programs until I picked up the phone and I think the reason why this is. I am able to direct people personally and give them the advice that they need without all the B.S. ans Hype that you often get from online marketers (WarriorForum members are the exception) .

Because of the relationships I forge I am starting to get feedback from the people that I have sold to and these people have started to make money. What a great feeling knowing that you have had a positive impact on a persons life.

There are some pros and cons:

      The Pros.

I enjoy my business more as a result of speaking to people.
People are more likely to buy other products from me because they trust me.
I have less refunds as a result of people buying the correct product.
I have developed more skills as a result of learning from my customers.

      AND obviously Higher Earnings.

      The Cons

      Slightly bigger phone bill.
You have to be careful of the product you offer as some of the posts allude to above and ideally you need a product with a residual income element.

This month I expect my income to double without doubling my expenses and for it to grow over the next few months as we roll out to new countries.
      But thats it....

My only advice that I can give is, if you have an ethical product and and you have the ability to communicate with people....Get on the phone you won't regret it
