Hey warriors ive had this website up for the last 2 months Student Cover Letter Last month I had around 5000 visitors (4700) were unique. The average they stayed on the page was around 4 minutes. I had only one sale for $20. I want this to work so I know what to improve on so I can redo it over and over again. Please tell me what I can improve on!

wow....5000UVs and only one sale is very bad.

Can it be that the people coming to your site are not really buyers but people who look for such free templates?

How many hops/clicks did you get on this cb product? If you see quite a number of hops but no sales it might indicate a problem with the sales page/price of that specific product.

The design of your site is a little "bland" and (for my own taste) a little too dark.

    1. Your popup form is covered by menu in Firefox. Impossible to sign up.
    2. "I am recruitment officer..." is not really convincing credential to buy products.
I'd rather replace this with proof "why is what you are selling will help people to earn job/money..."

    Hey Anthony,

If you're selling some kind of service for writing cover letters, I'm not seeing it anywhere.

    That might be your problem.

Get a big fat headline dead center at the top of the page that says something like, "I'll Write Your Cover Letter For You And Deliver It To You In Less Than 48 Hours For Just $20"

And I don't know how you made even 1 sale because I don't see where it's crystal clear you can buy something... and I don't see what you're offering.

For starters, there's no reason to opt in. Your popover just says "Join our mailing list". Why would I want to do that?

Offer them YOUR secret cover letter that got you 193 different job offers as an example. I'd opt in for that.

Also put a nice big red attention seeking opt-in on the side bar to the same effect.

That'll at least get you a ton of subscribers and you can make some sales on the followups.

The whole site is pretty bland so there's no obvious call to action. The product you're promoting looks like software or something so get some big red links with some giant arrows saying "Stuck on the first sentence? I use this software to create my cover letters AUTOMATICALLY!"

You get the idea, it's a start

Later on once you get more sales you should develop your own course/software and sell that.

Actually, If you can't be bothered doing any of that how about you just sell the site to me?

You talk about "me" and "I" a lot, they don't care about you.. (sorry I know how harsh that sounds), they care about their problem /solving it.

Remove ego from the top of the page, focus on them, it's all about them.

yes you use the word "I" a lot on your page, you are basically giving a resume of your own work

talk to the customer ---> "YOU"

How would YOU like... etc..etc.. and not an endless description about your own work. It is not appealing to the visitor.

Visitor is looking for something...GIVE it to him.

I guess with good copy writing you could make much more from this site since you already get decent traffic.

I just skimmed through and this is what I observed. You talking about yourself, you talking about yourself, then some really good content, but I did not see a product.

Who is your market? Unemployed, or students who just spent $200,000 on an education who don't yet have an income.... Maybe you are attracting people without money.

If you want to make money in the employment field, target people who are currently employed and very well paid. Many will pay dearly for a $5000-10,000 raise or better working conditions, or a better working location.

When I examined your page, I see the obscure links to your products that blend into the background so they are easy to look past without interfering with the articles. They are so bland, and then they dump into a huge sales page so cluttered at the top that I don't want to tax my eyes to read it. How long do visitors stay on your sales page?

Skimming through the sales page, nothing catches my attention. The price is buried in fine print and difficult to find.

I see a few things that might improve your sales.

First, I think you might have a target audience that does not spend money. I could be wrong, so I'll continue.

You could attract more attention with the box cover on the side of the blog.

Instead of the extra long sentences as links, blend the idea of using the software into the article better.

Here are some tips in writing a cover letter.
    A. Do this.
    B. Do that.
    C. Tell this, that and the other.
These things will help improve your chances of getting interviews by as much as 50 percent. My product "Cover Letter Creator" makes use of all these tips in such a way as to draw the employer into calling you in for an interview. Get it now while I have it at a reduced price.

You'll have to word it your way, but you get the idea.

You asked, and this is my opinion.

    Good luck

I just followed your chat special. YUCK!!!!!! you offered an option -- NO NO. You aren't selling hosting, you are begging for money.

Some buyers know what they want to buy, but most do not. When your customer starts to leave, you should only offer one down sale. The only options you should give your customers is to buy or leave. A second down sell is better than both options in one page.

Leave your bragging in the about box only. Don't explain it in the articles. No one is interested. Let your about be in third party.
"Anthony Kalliris is an accomplished recruitment officer with ten years of experience. He has taken the best of what he teaches and put it into a software package that anyone can use to generate attractive, unique and job specific cover letters that really gets the attention of prospective employers. ..."

Scrap the bragging, scrap selling the software and start selling the benefits of the software.

"You spent a couple of hours writing the perfect resume. Then, in ten minutes, you produced a hundred copies for prospective employers. However, when it comes to writing a cover letter, you have two choices. One canned letter with a couple of fill-in-the blanks that reads like a form letter or looks like the thousands of other cover letters received by the employer, or take the pain-staking route of spending half an hour or more writing a fresh cover letter from scratch for each job you are applying for.

There is a better way. "Cover Letter Creator" can pump out a fresh, unique cover letter for each position in less than a minute. Each cover letter is unique to the job, employer and position for which you are applying. And it gets their attention and you get the interview.
