Why Have Warrior Friends?

I'm at a loss for a purpose for the "friends" feature of
the forum. I get friends requests and accept most, if
not all of them, but for what reason.

I would sometimes like to contact my WF friends to offer
a special deal or message but there is no such function
as far as I can determine.

So why have a function of the forum that serves little
purpose than to know how 'popular' you are?

I would like to hear some other members input on this.

Personally i think having friends in this forum is a great thing.

My intention is not to try to sell things to them.

I like to correspond with them for other purposes such as advice or in case i have a question that i think that friend can answer.

Not just that but having friends, especially on the warrior forum gives me other great opportunities like i have been asked to review products that they might have come out with or even can have some 1 on 1 training.

I have done this with other members from time to time.

Plus its a good way to build relationships.

So you are saying that you use the list as a diary?

Because I'm not against having friends but was wondering
how helpful the "friends FEATURE" on the forum was.

If someone asked to be my "friend" and then began marketing to me or trying to leverage their friend status - they'd be off my list immediately. I've viewed that section of the profile as a nod to "social sites" and nothing more.

I don't see a popularity contest either - and think it's silly to make it one.

Me too. If I wanted to get marketed to, I'd join their newsletter list. If they wanted to market to me on the forum, then they should build a personal relationship with me first. (Real friendship, not virtual friendship.)

But if I just started receiving "special" messages from my WF "friends," I'd break those ties fast.

      Cheers,

That's what NOT to do, so what do you do with the feature?

What, no hidden, super top secret coupon code? How about bonuses strictly limited to the first 50 people?

I presume that the upsell is on the other side of the cart, yes?

When I first saw that feature I was like uggh WF Myspace. But then I realized it helps me "FIND" people.

There are many Warriors on here with great ideas and I like to be able to find them easily to read comments and communicate with them.

The idea then is to use the Friends list for the value it provides and not as a popularity contest. There may be another way to find Warriors but I have found the friends list to be easy.

Also I do not feel the friends list is the place to make special offers. If they want to join one of my email lists I can make offers there. Friends list is to communicate and not sell.

Its "bad" to make offers to your friends but it's OK to make
      offers to Warriors only--called WSO?

      I don't get the logic.
