Article Directory Submissions

Hi guys!

I am working on learning more about article marketing. Maybe some of you can help me with this question....

When submitting to article directories....

How many do you submit to? Obviously there are the big ones: ezine, goarticles, bluzzer...are there others you recommend? I have found lists of 50+, but that's crazy!

I am hand submitting (can't afford an article submitter), so I really need to pick probably the top 10-12. Any preferences?

Also, is there an order they should be submitted in? I hear that ezine is picky and will search the net to be sure that your article isn't already out there when they review it. Are there others like that, and how do you get around that?

Any help you can give would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks!
Jennifer

First you submit to Ezinearticles.com and let them approved.

After that you can submit to other article directories.

It will take some days for Ezinearticles.com to approve them.

Your website will get more quality and targeted traffic from Ezinearticles.com.

      Good Luck.

I agree submit to ezine articles first. Then to articlesbase and goarticles (they don't accept free email accounts though so you can't use yahoo and gmail to sign up) and submit to those. You only need a couple really. You probably won't get a lot of traffic from the other directories anyway so you may be wasting your time submitting to them. Squidoo and hubpages work better for me.

I use an article submitter...just in case. I can show you where I find free article submitters PM me.

Also there may be some directories that are in your niche so it may be worth a try to submit to them.

  • Hi.. yes there are various article directories over the net but if you are gonna use them to have backlinks, all of 'em are not for your use because some of them put 'nofollow' tag in the resource box and that won't help make you backlinks.

Some of the best that can help you with this are -

    1. Ezine
    2. GoArticles
    3. ArticleDashBoard
    4. ArticleKindPro
    5. Buzzle

These directories do not put 'nofollow' in your links rather sites like ArticleBase, ArticleSnatch. A1Articles etc put 'nofollow'.
I hope you would get some help with this info

I would focus strictly on EzineArticles. Their traffic is of higher quality in my opinion.
Goarticles is filled with "spammy" no good articles. You can also try Articlebase as well.

    Best Regards,

I submit to a fair amount (50 or so) usually using an intern for the submissions. It works pretty effectively, though it is time consuming.

Article submission services can be quite expensive but they do save you lot of time. If you are on a small budget I would recommend using Isnare for article submissions. They do not charge you monthly or quarterly subscriptions, instead you can pay per articles you submit and their directory list is quite extensive. But as said above it is always good to submit your articles to bigger article directories and niche article directories by hand.

Then use the "poor" man's semi article submitter - Roboform!
It can help you cut down the time that you will spend to
submit to 10-12 article directories. I started using it to
submit articles even before the first automated submitter
was done. It worked very well then, it will work very well now.

How it works? It will help you automatically fill in the necessary
information on the article directories when you want to
submit an article, from - username, password, email address,
article summary, article body, resource box, etc.

My staffs still use Roboform for press release submissions today!

Hi, I'm just starting out with article marketing also so this thread is very useful. When you say backlinks to your website and unique articles. Do you mean you should host all your articles on your website so they're linked back or create totally unique articles that aren't on your website but have a link in the resource box?

      Thanks

The way most or a lot of people do it is to put the article on their own site. Give it some time to get indexed. The post the same article to Ezinearticles. Once it is approved there, post it to other article directories wtih a link or two back to your site.

There really is a ton of info on here and it can be overwhelming at times and difficult to sort out the garbage from the real gems but there are quite a few knowledgable people on this forum. Folks who have been doing it a heck of a lot longer than me with much more success than I have had. But that's just my 2 cents...

        Hi Jennifer,

Article marketing is how I started marketing online and continues to be my favorite method, not just because of it being free, but because it is extremely effective when done right.

I think you are on the right track with your submissions.

Definitely use EzineArticles as your first port of call and wait for the article to be approved first.

Once this is done, I would then submit to Articlesbase and GoArticles. Maybe switch the title up a little but I have never had any issue with the same article being submitted to these 3 sites - they still achieve good Google rankings.

In my opinion, I would stop there with manual submissions, whether you then go on to use article distribution software or not.

MORE IMPORTANTLY, and I don't think anyone has mentioned yet, is structuring your article the right way.

        1. I assume you are doing a little keyword research first? Make sure you include it in your title, within the first 75 words, 3-4 times throughout and again in the final 75 words.

        2. Keep it 400-500 words - enough to cover a specific topic without boring your reader.

        3. Resource box - state your website address as one link and your keyword as anchor text, as your second link. Provide a strong call to action and a reason for the reader to make that click!

EVEN MORE IMPORTANTLY...Make sure your article marketing efforts are done on a consistent, regular basis.

Set yourself a schedule and write and submit (at least) one article a day (also include it on your blog).

        ****Do this everyday.****

If it takes you 3 hours at first, you will soon become more proficient at it and the time it takes will reduce drastically. And everyday means everyday. Not just for a week, or two weeks. Do this consistently for 6-8 weeks and you will then see some serious traffic to your site that will then start to really snowball.

        Hope this helps,

        Ed

man...some of these guys aren't even subtle any more about spamming the forum!

Anyhow...I submit by had to about 10 directories. I group all the similar ones together like Article Directory, Eonlinearticles, articlerich and Isnare and a few of the other ones that are basically text without html. Then I group together the others that use html in adjoining tabs. This way I can bang through 5-6 of the similar formatted directories in just a few minutes. It takes me about 15 minutes to submit an article to 10 directories. This includes time for editing the formatting and writing summaries etc.
