Hey all my new site is going very well, its making me a nice profit indeed

THE PS4 CONSOLE - Sony PS4 Console

But i have entered a new territory now and have added a forum, now this really is a gamble to see what comes of it. But I'm finding it very hard to actually promote such a thing.

I know that this is no easy task nobody is going to join a forum that has not already got members. But like i say this is a first for me and like everything i do I'll put 110% into it.

Any ideas guys appreciate the feed back

    Good name btw

Anyway, you're right it is difficult to get forums off the ground, but it is doable. Just takes a lot of work. Being involved with a few in the past I would first recommend to steer clear of the services that offer you to fill up your forum for a price because you end up with a lot of irrelevant and worthless discussions (at least that's what I have seen from my experience - there may be someone out there legit, but it probably isn't worth finding)

The best ways I have found are when me and some buddies basically created multiple profiles and started talking to ourselves/each other until we got them to a point where we started getting other people active. Another thing we did is since we had some decent email contacts around our niche is we invited people to come by and start posting. We also setup contests, giveaways, etc to entice people to get involved. It is a lot of hard work, but if you get it off the ground (and depending on the niche) you will see that they can eventually take on a life of their own.

Oh yeah, and like any other web property make sure you keep the quality high as that will be the factor that ultimately makes or breaks it. If no one is getting any decent info or having any conversations that are worth coming back for no one will.

    Good luck.

Well it is a lot of work. I get over a hundred spammers for each genuine sign up.

Also the competition is a bit intense. The support forum for Simple Machines is huge. Every post in there is probably typed by someone who has a forum. There can't be too many niches without a few already...
