question for autobloggers

So, I'm setting up my first autoblog, and I have a domain name; however, I have one question before jumping in with both feet (purchasing WP Robot).

With autoblogs, is it better to go with a niche or a microniche? I am currently leaning towards doing a niche, since it does aggregate and having a lot of content feeding in is the goal. With a microniche, it may become difficult to find enough content to propagate.

All you successful autobloggers, what do you think is best?

Thanks in advance.

I go for the niche(toned down just a bit) more than the micro niche.

A niche would have more content. However, from my autoblogging experiment, I wasn't able to generate many long-tail keyword visits. This is most likely because the content is duplicate.

Has anyone else seen different results?

I use WP Robot on about 30 blogs at the mo, excellent plugin.
BTW, get the RSS module don't worry about the Yahoo News module, it's not that great.
And i would also go with niche vs micro niche.

Think of how stupid the average person is, and realize half of them are stupider than that.

I am planning on getting WP Robot. However, I have a slight issue. I live in Colorado and amazon doesn't allow affiliates here. I was going to get a friend from another state, but when they asked for SSN during setup, I stopped.

Question: WP Robot seems heavily designed around being an amazon affiliate. Am I dead in the water if I'm not using amazon on my autoblogs, or do Clickbank, ebay, and other options add up and work just as well? I've never done an autoblog, but I'd guess that the majority of income comes from amazon, no?

Serialfish- just make a day trip down to either NM or WY and setup an LLC, then reapply to Amazon. Those are actually a couple of the best in the country anyway (no state income tax and good privacy protection)

I would go with niche. The reason being is many micro niches do not have enough traffic to genrate decent money. Another reason is that with a niche you can often discover some really fantastic longtail keywords that convert to either subscribers or buyers that in some cases can point you to a related micro niche that could outperform your current idea on a micro niche.

For example you decide as a micro niche **** berry juice. Well **** juice does great at first because it can only be found online. Your sitting on the first page of google. Then all the big box stores start selling the stuff and your 100 dollars a day is now down to 5 bucks a day over several months.

Had you started a fruit juice website you could have discovered other exotic fruit juices such as maqui berry juice and others as trends develop and your now developed pr5 site is still useful other than going to auction for 100 bucks.

If you are running adsense then go with niche. You have good content around.

If you are selling a perticular product then go with microniche that belongs to that product.

Because I had same problem. With general content, difficult to make a sale. But easy to get a adsense click.
