Never give up on your sites

I had a site that I forgot that I had, and when I remembered it, I thought about chunking it.

Checked amazon this morning, had a sale from it. I was very shocked. I wrote 2 articles for it and no backlinks at all. Same thing happened with a few other sites that I never had any sales with before.

So in the last few days I made 9 sales from 3 sites that I forgot that I had, and had decided to come back later every time I remembered them.

If you're struggling in this, don't fret. Just keep going! Stop taking in too much information just Practice and make sites. You can't get good if you don't practice at anything, SEO is the same way!

So stop reading and go make a new site!

Best of wishes,
Mattaym.

    Quick question for you;

Why are you making sites, posting only 2 articles, no backlinking or anything, then moving on to something else? Imagine how well that site could be doing now if you had done some more backlinking, bookmarking, more content, more, well, im sure you get my drift

Well done on the sales though

Well with this particular site, after I did the keyword research etc, made the site and wrote the articles... I noticed amazon only carries two of the item in total. lol

So I kinda figured I wouldn't even make back the money for the domain name if I put in the effort to sell them both.

        Man,
You gotta love when that happens. It happened twice over the past month or so for me also. You just never know.

I know this I had the same situation one of my blogs that I did a review for. It was a simple review and I made a sale a month later and it was a 2 post blog. It just needs more work to grow it.

Just an additional suggestion. Learn from the products you have actually sold. Analyze out how the buyers found your site and forge ahead on that front... backlinking, articles, SEO and all. I do have to agree with the others who suggest never moving on to your next project until you have completed the first one. You are not giving your sites a fair shake otherwise. Congrats on the sales!

You are making this work at home stuff way harder than it is. Ready for some sanity? Clear your head and start over.

are the few sales made enough to cover the yearly domain registration & monthly hosting for the sites?

No sir, but they were enough to pay off a month's worth of one of my bills($35) and one month of hosting. I'm very happy with that.

That's good to hear but tell me one thing. The amount of efforts and time you are spending on making these sites.. is it worth? Are you getting the returns on your investment in form of efforts and time. I don't think you are. So according to me, if you do anything.. just put in your all inputs then only it is worth. You can not just be happy with getting your monthly bill from your website. Think about it

This is very true. I can cite many examples over the years of sites I basically abandoned. I kept them registered, but they were gathering cyberdust otherwise. Every now and then one of them will pop. I've got one right now making a solid $12-$16 per day in Adsense income since January. It's a site I set up last April and literally never touched again. No new links. No new content. All of a sudden, Google starting loving it and sending tons of traffic.

The OP is right. They cost so little to keep registered. Just hang on and keep building more. You really never know.

  • Congrats for your sales, but you should take a time and promote these sites.
Just building new sites doesn't make sense, make 3 sites, promote them, gain decent rankings and then switch to another batch.

    Hmmm....

I think this is wrong. I don't think the lesson here should be to never give up on your sites, because often times you really should just move on. But rather, don't let obvious opportunity that's staring you in the face go unnoticed.

I just had one domain that was about to expire and I was debating whether or not to keep it. Just days before the expiration I received a $57 commission from a clickbank sale on that site. I have now renewed it.

This was a project I never got around to, but threw a simple presale template up just so something was there until I came back. I imagine a little effort on my end would generate more than 1 sale every year from that domain.
