Aweber Code on WP Blog Not Showing

I am getting frustrated here and need some advice. I am almost done and for some reason the text widget I am trying to add to new WP blog is not showing the aweber box I need. I added the code into the text widget box. I hit show and done, but nothing works. Am I missing something? I want to be done! Any help appreciated.

In WP it is "Save" and "Close" (optional) - not "show and done".

Are you adding the JS or the HTML?

I using html, but it has a 'done' button at end of the box. then a 'save changes' button, It says my changes have been saved. I also have it set as 'page wide sidebar top' when I am entering it.

I am guessing you are using a Wordpress.COM account and NOT a Wordpress.ORG self hosted site.

That would be the problem as a WP.com account won't allow commercial activity, like an opt-in form.

Just a guess, as a self hosted WP site does not use the terms "done".

Ty guys. I am actually using a third party that is auto generating the WP blog. I believe the platform is the .com, as it has all the plugins already pre-installed. Everything is working except the widgets. I tried adding plain text and meta widget and neither show up. I appreciate the help though. I thought I had done something wrong.

I've been having the same problem but it hasn't been in WP, it's in my html editor NVU. I just can't seem to get it to show.

If you just put some random text in a text widget, does it show up?
If yes, there is something wrong with your aweber code.
If no, your widgets don't work.

As far as I know them (wp.com)... it is highly unlikely that they would let a third party to generate splogs on their servers

Maybe it is a 3rd party using the WP MU software on their own server...

Never heard anything like that... except if you mean that you wanted to show the html code without being rendered; as in a tutorial giving away some specific code snippet. For that, yes, you should use a plugin.

Otherwise there must be something wrong with you blog: in any default WP installation you can add html into your posts/Pages (provided you do NOT use the wysiwyg/visual monster thingy!!) and any plain text widget can handle HTML, JavaScript but no PHP.
