Does posting a Wordpress PAGE send out pings?

Good afternoon everyone!

I'm trying to get a definitive answer...when I post a PAGE in Wordpress (not a POST) does it trigger the ping services in my dashboard?

I have been drip feeding some content and they are page submissions, not posts...thus it seems the Google bot is starting to ignore me.

Maybe this is coincedence (Google not crawling my site) but I thought I would check on this.

Any good knowledge on this would be very helpful!

      Hi Sam,

      Yes, I have a Google XML sitemap installed. Do I need to put a static one on there as well?

      Also, I had two of Wordpress PAGES indexed the other day but they are not in the index now.

      I should mention the site is very new.

    Whenever I add a new page I also post a related post linking to the new page with the main keyword, so that will get pinged. Plus I use a very large list of ping services, not just the default one. I have seen my ranking shoot up rather quickly after doing this for a while and really believe it has a positive impact.

      Yeah that's what I was thinking US. QUESTION: Do you write a completely new post or maybe a rewrite?

      And, since my pages are listed in the sidebar anyway do you also create another link at the end of the post to the page you get the 'juice' to?
