Which is Better for Offline Clients When It Comes to Keywords?

I noticed when looking for keywords using Market Samurai for local businesses that some keywords have lots of searches for broad but 0 for phrase or exact?

Any suggestions on what to target as primary Keywords?

Which of the 2 would you choose?

broad 53, phrase 24, exact 19

or

broad 398, phrase and exact 0

This is a real example.

Thanks fellow Warriors

This is exactly the keywords I came up with from MS but I changed the city obviously. In this example which ones would you choose if the competition was all the same and you are doing this for a diamond jeweler in San Diego? Thanks again for the help.

    ------------------------------------------Broad---Phrase----Exact
    san diego jewelry----------------------730------118-------16
    diamond san diego--------------------398--------0---------0
    rings san diego--------------------------95--------0---------0
    jewelry stores san diego---------------53-------24--------19
    engagement rings san diego----------43-------29--------19

I ended up buying the domain name TopEngagementRingsSanDiego.com

So I guess my question is, for offline keyword research does it matter if their is 0's for both phrase and exact?

      Hey Rockstar,

I would suggest going after the keyword phrase that has the highest broad searches for a domain name if its available. This way you have the best chance of trying to get the most share of the volume of traffic. Just wondering... was San Diego Jewelry.com already taken? Since its a pretty generic term assume so.

Maybe try for: TopSanDiegoJewelry.com or BestSanDiegoJewelry.com?

Is this a niche site for yourself or are you looking to build and selloff to a local S.D. jeweler?

      Many Blessings,
      Jerold

Do phrase searches across the board....

Broad could be anything, phrase is decent... exact is too precise.

I run a BIG offline marketing firm and we always base on Phrase, not Broad.

You'll have less traffic but it will be more targeted and more qualified, which i'm assuming is what you want.

Thanks Jerold and this domain is for a new offline client I got that owns a diamond jewelry store. It isnt in San Diego, I just used that as the example. The stats are real but for the actual city the store is in. I didnt want to use the real city for obvious reasons. Thanks again.

Thanks Maverick and it kinda threw me off when I did the kw search and wasnt used to seeing 0's for phrase and exact. So you dont even look at exact or take that into account? Just phrase? Thanks again. Great pic of you and Tony by the way.
