Making a Sustainable Online Income!

Every affiliate marketer wants to know, "How do you make a SUSTAINABLE online INCOME?"

The answer is, first of all, think of a way to provide the most people with the best SOLUTION to their worst PROBLEM!

Then do some KEYWORD RESEARCH, and make yourself a simple, one page WEBSITE!

On the website, offer a FREE gift in exchange for your visitors NAMES, and EMAIL ADDRESSES, and that is about it! That should be pretty much the only job your website should have; to get your visitors names, and email addresses!

Then, using an AUTO RESPONDER, give the visitors that gave you their name, and email address, their free gift, followed by more valuable, helpful, FREE information! The visitors that gave you their name, and email address, are now on your MAILING LIST!

The ONLY thing the people on your mailing list has given you, up to this point, is their NAME, and EMAIL ADDRESS! What they have got from you is a FREE GIFT that solved a problem they were having, and more valuable, helpful, FREE INFORMATION that continued to solve problems for them! That is a GOOD DEAL FOR THEM, if you ask me!

Now the PEOPLE on your mailing list KNOW you, LIKE you, and TRUST you! They would assume that if you send them an email with a link to a PAID product, or service, that it would be even much MORE VALUABLE, and HELPFUL, than the FREE gift, and the FREE information was....

Please DO NOT prove them wrong! Send them an email with a link to a paid product, or service, that you truely, truely BELIEVE in! DO NOT bombard your mailing list with TONS of emails with links to paid products! ONLY send them either valuable, helpful, FREE information, products, or services, or PAID information, products, or services that you TRUELY BELIEVE in, and if you think it will HELP the PEOPLE on your MAILING LIST SOLVE a PROBLEM!

Good luck!

    Matthew,

(Oops, first read the sig rules to replace your signature line.)

you really hit the nail on the head with the latter section -- keeping the trust of your list membership.

I have subscribed to many a list where the marketer only sends out daily affiliate links with urgent call to actions. Some use tactics where they apologize for the errors so they have excuses to bombard the members with as many as four emails in one day for the same product. It is not surprising that after a couple of months, if you try to unsubscribe, Aweber says there is no such list.

Today I took the time to unsubscribe from a number of 'affiliate spam' lists or to move them to the 'read' folder. In the process, i read an email from one of the few marketers who always tries to include useful information. It turns out that not only was his information valuable, it was timely and I bought the product. He is still in the beginning stages of building his business and I have been freeloading on his list for a month or two.

His approach is 'Here is something you might find useful...and here is a product that has even more useful content. Check it out before the price goes up after Friday.

Listen to Matthew, it pays to build the trust -- even with a freeloader.

That's wierd! My signature DID NOT break the rules!

Am I missing something? I just edited my signature, and made it the same as it was before, because I do not see where I broke the rules!

Can anyone help me out here?

    Thank you!

Excellent post. I couldn't agree more. The people who consistently make big money online have thousands of names and email addresses on their mailing list. I know one guy who has 127, 000 people on his mailing list and each time he sends out a broadcast, he makes no less than $1,500 sometimes up to $4, 000. So this is really solid advice.

    Thank you for your input!

@N4PGW What you said really makes sense! EVERY person on your mailing list is a potential customer. So, treat them even better than you would want to be treated if you were on their mailing list. Give them stuff that you have used yourself. Keep their best interest in mind. That is why they are on your list. Not because it benefits you by having them on your list, but because it benefits them to be on your list. Otherwise, why in the world would they want to be on your list?

@Zentech Thank you for reading! I hope I helped you in some way!

@kimwriter Right you are! I don't know about you, but my mailing list is, by a long shot, my most valuable asset! But, you want to overdeliver, so you don't end up w/ a list that does not click on your links! You are taking all this time, effort, and money to get people to sign up to your list, you might as well take a little extra time and effort to keep your list engaged! After all, you can reach ALL of them w/ ONE email!

    Thank you, and good luck!
