The 5 things you should know

Looking for some feedback about what you think to my "5 things you should know" link on www.hair-dvd.com

Just below 'the fold' is a link :

Follow this link to find out the
5 things you should know about hairdressing

Once a visitor clicks on the link they are taken through a series of 5 pages telling them 5 things about hairdressing - the last item is telling them that training is an important thing they should know about hairdressing - they are then returned to the hairdresser training DVD sales page.

I thought of the idea after reading that visitors quite often need to visit a site a few times before making a purchase - this way, I thought they may feel as though they have visited the site a number of times with clicking through different pages and then returning to the main page again.

Also, rather than having the 'Dear Friend' beginning to the sales page, I have each of the 5 pages starting off progressively 'friendlier' by starting them in different ways:
'welcome'
'Hello again'
'Welcome back...'
'Hello friend'
'Hello my friend, and welcome back to the final section'

Do you think this is a good/bad idea ?
Do you think it will help turn visitors into paying customers ?
Are there any comments/suggestions

I personally think something like "Welcome" is a very good greeting on a sales letter. I don't react well to "Dear Friend" when I read it. Maybe it takes a lot for me to consider someone a true friend?

But I may not be representative of the majority which often happens. I ignore the greeting entirely, though, a lot of the time - especially if I know I already want the product.
