Do you think it's better to Have Multiple Sales pages on One Blog or Separate Sales Page Minisites

This is from a linking perspective.

If you have a blog with separate .html pages and submit articles directing to those pages would that not be a better strategy then setting up separate sales pages via different domains?

I would think that would help the overall page rank to a site that has back links deep into its architecture vs spending time building links to multiple sites. Just curious.

Thanks

    Sean,

I'm no expert, but I've been reading a text by another warrior that suggests using pages within a wordpress site that are keyed to long tailed keywords, with the blog itself targetted toward the more general (and desirable) keyword is an excellent SEO strategy.

    Hi Sean,

The only time Id do that is if all of the products are related to each other and in a similar niche. This will help to build up the overall theme of the site.

If, for example you sold a golf product and a pet training product I wouldn't recommend putting those on the same site. It will be difficult to rank for anything if your sites theme is all over the place.

The reason I separate my sales pages is purely a ranking thing. If I have a 50 page site tightly focused on the word 'doberman dog training' ill find it much easier to rank than a site for 'dog training' with a few pages about doberman dog training.

    Hope this helps
