None of them are reliable. What if you have a killer site with killer rankings and the host goes out of business or TAKES OVER YOUR URL? What is to stop them from doing that?

    Very true Brian.
For what it costs to get hosting and a domain its worth your while to pay for it.

Look at it like you are investing in yourself. there are sites that give the first month hosting free so all you need is a domain to start

Its a much better idea to pay the very reasonable amounts and rather be in full control of the domain and hosting. If you are going to spend ours and invest your money and time in building a website and business then you would surely want to control it?

    Don't risk it

My programmer and I worked on using free hostings
one time for getting tons of backlinks. The biggest
problem with them is that they are up today and
down tomorrow (never to return). So, it can be a
real pain catching up with them. And since they're
free, they don't owe you any explanation.

So, like they say, "you get what you pay for (or
    don't pay for)

Apparently even with paid hosting you need to be careful as they get closed down as well. I have heard few stories.

It is true free hosting can close down anytime. I provide free hosting service 0cost.net . But I am not planning to bring it down any sooner.

I only use "free hosted sites" for backlinks and traffic to my main sites.

    wordpress.com
    blogger
    weebly
    squidoo
    hubpages

are a few of my favorite places....

    good luck!

    I used to use 000webhost.com

It worked pretty well, but was semi unreliable. Just spend the $3/mo and buy hosting. Try Byethost.com!

Not recommended -- I used them years ago for experimental purposes.

000webhost has a scam affiliate program, and they shut your website(s) down for no reason -- simply because you didn't "upgrade" to their substandard paid host.

Byethost are the same people, a little more lenient, but they shut you down when you go over your Bandwith quota -- which is very low.

Another sister/brother company is 0fees.net -- equally bad

Hey so what exactly where the problems with them? I have had none whatsoever and all i do is host a small wordpress blog, in fact Im setting up the third one now without any problems, and I was given two sets of account storage which was odd, also, would you recomend any of us representing their company and becoming one of their affiliates or is there no honor in that?

I have tried your other suggestions and to just pay $3 a month but $3 a month adds up and you might as well just pay that $30 a year number! Isnt there a $1 host a month? Or a reliable freeby???

I need to know because I have been developing these money making systems for people who have NO money to start so EVERY STOP including hosting needs to be free 100% ya dig?

I have used free hosting in the past including Godaddy, It is not a good image to present is you are selling something, its similar to using a free email account for potential clients to contact you.

Pay a few dollars to a reliable company such as knownhost and stop being a scrooge,

I don't see what the point is, when hosting is so cheap these days.

Not to mention, most free hosts DO NOT have cPanel, Fantastico, much bandwith or diskspace.

Go with hostgator -- everything unlimited for $7.95 a month!

If you cannot afford $95 a year in hosting, then you have other issues you need to figure out before you do anything in IM.

    Blunt, but being honest.

50webs.com -- was the website I used when I first got into IM when my budget was low. It's like 60 mbs limit and unlimited bandwidth. The downside is that you can't .php so no wordpress but static HTML is fine.

You can also add a .com domain but it cost $15 instead of the regular $10 if you go with Go Daddy (I think you must register a domain with them in order to get a domain or else you're stuck with a sub domain)

But yeah, if you're on a low budget start with that.

No they are no good at all. In this game you need your own hosting and your own domains - also register your domains at a different place to where you purchase you're hosting.

You are better off paying for hosting and domain. "anything worth doing is worth doing right." Words to live by. There is no short cut to making a website. If it were me, I would start out small. Use the cheapest hosting/domain price. Then if you need more space upgrade.

Go ahead and register for a hubpages.com account. Write a few good hubs and apply for an Adsense account. If you have one already, then link it to your new hubpages.com account. Use EZA, GoArticles, etc. to get links/traffic to your new hubs. You will make a few $$$. Take that $$$ and reinvest it in your business to buy reliable hosting and domain names. Then put links on your hubs back to your new web properties. Rinse/repeat, rinse/repeat until you reach $1,000/day

$100 for someone who is unemployed and struggling with debt and bills is no a few pennies.

In another post you created on this forum here, you indicated that you purchased Commission Blueprint -- which is $297. Break that down, and that's $25 a month!

How did someone who was "unemployed and struggling with debt and bills is no a few pennies" afford Commission Blueprint 2.0?

Do your research. It comes to $95 A YEAR for hosting. There are monthly options under $10.00/month.

So, you're telling us, then, that you are "unemployed and struggling with debt and bills is no a few pennies," yet you bought Commission Blueprint 2.0 @ $297.00, and CANNOT afford under $10 a month for legitimate hosting?

Not to mention, Hostgator gives you 1st month free with coupon code "Wordpress"

Or, iPage will give you hosting for a full year at $42?

        Hmmm . . .

Still yet, you say in another post on this forum here, that you have Market Samurai, a product that is $149.00.

Agreed with others, just invest $10 or less in a domain and $6 or $7 month in hosting, it's totally worth it. You have full control and you don't have to worry about anything disappearing out of the blue.
