Using Ping.FM for promotion?

INTERNET MARKETING

Ping.Fm posts to over 90 social networks/sites from one place. It looks like it has a lot of potential, thoughts?

Does anyone use this for promotion, if so are you having any luck?

Tips & tricks would be appreciated!

I started using it a few weeks ago. Other than helping me generate more links, I haven't seen an increase in sales. I'm still new at it, but the concept is awesome.

I recommend using an outsourcer to help you get everything set-up. It's a bit tedious.

Yes. That's the most tedious part with sites like Ping.fm. Creating and managing all these accounts are best outsourced so you can focus on the actual content and value provided by your messages. If you can manage to streamline account management, then this can be a very powerful addition to your online marketing toolkit.

Something similar (especially for blogs) is Ping-omatic. That lets you update a variety of blog services with information that your blog has been updated and (If I remember correctly) your RSS feed.

While it may not help when you're just getting started, if you have an established readership you can send traffic through websites like Technorati and Wordpress.

Yes. Pingomatic's function is different than social bookmarkers. Its used to simply notify search engines that your blog has been updated and very useful if you want to make your blog seen by the search engines. Social bookmarkers actually send your messages across all social sites and drive traffic from them.
