Can anyone tell me if I use a simple membership script for my blog, that requires the blog to be in a sub directory, will social media and seo still work? I'm concerned that my blog won't be picked up because it's in a protected directory.

Thanks!

Put your membership area in the protected folder and the blog on the root folder. Use an optin form and a join/login contectual link in the sidebar of the blog.

  • Check if your membership site also allows "public" or "unprotected" directories. If it does, then you may want to make your blog folder unprotected / public. If not, then you are better off keeping your blog (e.g. using the Wordpress platform) separate since most blogs are public anyway.
