Military Branding

Warriors, I need some assistance. I'm trying to brainstorm possible ways to make the Military more local. In the far reaches of the north, and outside of the biggest military installations. If you were tasked with presenting a "local, user friendly presence", what suggestions would you make. Please either leave me comments here.... Or if it isnt to much trouble (and in compliance with terms), please drop the comments on my site.... I want my superiors to be able to track the ideas

    • I'm looking for methods to funnel traffic to Recruiting Stations. Google places are unclaimed or not properly maintained, looking to claim the listings, build off them and push people to our Facebook pages.

I have been tasked with this project and I'm looking for ideas to make it grow.

      Ty for the response
  • Do you have a budget to work with?
  • I'm personally fronting the bill, all labor comes free lol. If I had a mentor, and the test proved to be sound the sky's the limit. While I can't be directly compensated I'm sure the powers to be would gladly acquire the project, if you follow where I'm going with this.

    • Soldierscredit,

This is a project you are doing, for the Army, in order to further Army recruiting efforts, while Active Duty with the Army? You shouldn't have to pay for this project out of your own pocket....am I missing something?

  • Recruiting is my 9 to 5, I'm not associating anything about this post with any political agenda. Your attempting to do so. I mentioned, Military nothing specific at all.

If your theory is true and I'm pushing politics, should I also change my avatar? Or what about the poster above, is he pushing an agenda? What about all of the Servicemen and women from around the globe that visit these forums?

Please don't take this thread there.

    • I am trying to understand your perspective and after all this is an international forum - what would you think if someone started promoting the 'national brand' of a different country?

It was never my intention to hijack your thread, so I'll delete my original post which was probably a bit acerbic anyway, and hope you find what you are looking for. Enough said.

EDIT: Just thought I would mention that 24 years ago I was recruited into the RNZAF and had I pursued that career would most likely perceive this topic very differently.
  • ain't nothin' wrong with that

I'm not sure what you're trying to accomplish.

The Army has a gazillion websites, facebook, myspace and recruiters all over the place. They have a first person shooter video game, music videos etc...

Now, is the Army or the other branches doing a good job with all of these resources? I think most of them are dropping the ball.

From what I can tell is they spend a lot of money on big contracts and end up with flashy, pretty and fairly useless websites, and don't even get me started on AKO... or why I can't access all of my information from a single site. (unless it's changed, me = retired now).
  • I totally agree with xiaophil views. You are targeting a younger generation who grew up in the Tech Age. I am also a Reserve Company Commander and I am faced with this dilemma every month. How do I keep my younger folks motivated and wanting to show up. One tool I use is the EST2000 which is like a huge shooting video game. All real diff types of weapons air fed for recoil and noise. They have several different senarios and they love it! It keeps them coming back, Tech stuff they like. I have also incorporated paintball in the past. just a couple of thoughts on it
