Apple just passed Microsoft as the second biggest company in the US, behind only Exxon.

Remember when Steve Jobs returned to Apple and Apple was just about to go bankrupt?

And all these years everyone was saying how Microsoft "won"...It's amazing how things have turned out.

The iPhone, iPad and Ipod have all been huge hits, and it's amazing how well the iPad is doing during a steep recession. I heard one expert say that Jobs knows what people want before they know what they want.

Does this make Steve Jobs the "best" marketer in the World?

He is very GOOD, to be honest.

His is a lesson to all others who
feel their world is about to crumble
because they just got fired. To
imagine that he got fired from
    Apple (a company he started),
and instead of calling himself a
failure and quitting, he went on
    to form another company which
did so well that Apple bought it,
and which got him back to
    Apple.. is simply super inspiring!

    Like he said sometime back...

    "there are things that happen
to us that we can't see why
    looking forward, we can only
    see why looking backwards
    ",

I have a friend that used to work directly with Steve and he said that what makes him stand apart is his absolute relentless pursuit of perfection. Apparently he is not the easiest person to be around but he does demand and ultimately gets the best from those around him.

Whenever I think of how big Apple has gotten I think of the movie "Pirates of Silicone Valley", which was a made for TV movie. After the back/forth between Gates/Jobs, it ends with Jobs coming back to Apple and MS taking a $150M stake in the company.

Steve Jobs should be an inspiration to all marketers.

This is what was said about Steve..

Jobs does just what a leader is supposed to do: Provide a vision of where the company ship is headed and make sure everyone understands it.

Here is my favorite quote from steve..

Innovation distinguishes between a leader and a follower.

Yup. That was a great movie. I liked Steve Jobs even more after watching it. And yes, he knows how to market his products.

Now, there are better products than i-Pad in that niche. However, that won't stop it from being on top.
