It is getting to the point where I can't use Google any more.

What the hell is Google doing? I know I am not the only one that has had a lot of problems lately doing a Google search. I read that they lowered the number of searches from an IP to stop automatic or robot searches. But this is ridiculous. I have went to Google for the first time yesterday and did a search and got that damn sorry page. I got it a few more times through out the day. I don't usually use Google for prolonged search queries. Tonight I go there after being off of my computer for a while and low and behold I get that. I did get the capture graphic one time, but most of the time I don't even get that so I can prove I am a human. WTF

There is no way to complain or get support either. I tried looking for it. So, I have started going to Yahoo to do searches. Maybe if a few more folks will do this they might get the picture.

They provide a tool to help people find stuff on the web. So some people use robots to assist them in their research. What the hell is the problem? I have not been using any robots or tools, so why am I being punished?

Wow, I've never heard of any limit like that.

I search on Google off and on 24/7 and nothing like you describe ever happens.

I never heard of that. But I do have SeoQuake installed and running all the time. But now I think of it, I changed the number of results to 100 after having it set to 20 for a long time. Worked ok for a while and then this crap started to happen.

But I know I am not the only one as this is not the first thread I have seen on this in the last few days. This is the second one I have started.

I will see what happens if I turn SeoQuake off.

I had the same problem. SEO quake is what is causing it for sure. Sending out automated queries. I had the same problem when I was using the NicheProfitClassroom money matrix keyword tool.

Wow, yeh, turn off SeoQuake! It makes lots of requests to google if left on with default search engine settings. I think I saw a warning on their site about this too.

I usually have it on manual so I have to click specific results to get the full picture.

I do believe I've had a few warnings from google too when the syntax of my search has been quite technical and I've performed it a few times. They say it looks too much like a bot..SOOO..give me as many damn verifications as you like, I can PROVE I'm human google.

You know, I can't even use other search engines after using google. With all the search engines I've tried the results don't seem that valuable at all.

Anyway, good luck, hope you sort it out.

This happens to me all the time. I think maybe Google is getting strict with these things. It's probably messing with their system or something.

If you're using rank checking tools like Rank Tracker (SEO Power Suite) this can happen especially if you run it several times in a day. If you are running a rank checking tool in the background then do a manual search on Google it's more likely that it would happen.

There are people who use something like changing the proxy - I'm not sure how to do that though. A quick fix would be to turn off your computer or router for a few minutes (maybe get some fresh air) after that you'd be able to search again. Sometimes if you just open a different browser it would let you search - I say sometimes because there are times that it doesn't work. So for example you are using firefox and you get the "sorry you're computer is sending automatic queries" when you open google on IE you'd be able to search again. There is also a captcha there to prove you are human

When that happens this is what you need to do:

    1. enter the captcha
    if that does not work...
    2. open it in a different browser
    if that does not work...
    3. wait a few minutes - do the other search engines, or work on something else
    if that does not work...
    4. turn off your computer -- maybe it's google telling us to get a life lol

By the way the same thing happens if you do several allinanchor and allintitle queries in google.

Ronancarr, ya I think you hit the nail on the head. Learn from this... What are we doing bad? What can you do better? Now do it... I took a few weeks to get back in that frame of mind. Everything page that I have been working on since has gained rank.

SEOQuake or some other software must be the culprit. I have never seen this and I use Google all the time.

Ive had to put in a code to prove I'm human when using the Google keyword tool multiple times but never got anything like that when searching with Google. Never even heard of that. Maybe Google is afraid if people use the robots to search too frequently it will skew their search statistics. So it's probably a good thing because we want the keyword search stats they give us to be accurate.

SeoQuake is the only cause of that issue.

I had to turn it off, and now just give it a go when I really need it.

It's a pain, but it's the only way.

Don't forget, you can still have it enabled - just go into:

preferences >> plugins >> SE plugins

..and change the 'load parameters' drop down to 'by request' instead of 'on load'.

Quake will have a link in the search results to fetch ALL parameters for every link, or you can pick and a choose a particular result or even just one parameter within a particular result.

Hope that helps. After doing that, never had a problem and I can still obtain the info I need.

I don't have Seoquake. I get this error when trying to log in to google groups on either firefox or IE. I can search with google, however.
