How do I find the real origin of a PLR?

Let's say a site sells some PLR articles. How do I know if those articles are indeed PLR? They have no author and no contact info. It's possible they were ripped from some place, then sold as PLR.

Even if I take one sentence from such an article and see it in 10 other sites, under 10 different names, how do I track their origin?

    To be honest with you, I really don't think there is a way to track PLR articles. People can take one original article and turn it into 30 different ones. Maybe if the article was copywritten or something like that you could find it, im just giving in my 2 cents thats all.

    I am actually worried about this situation:
    I buy some PLR articles, I start a PLR membership site, I got subscribers and ... I got sued by the original author.
