Length of Posts on WP Homepage

How do you control the length of the posts as they appear on the homepage in WordPress?

By default, an entire "recent" post is displayed on the homepage. Is it possible to only display the first 75 (n) words on the homepage?

Thanks...

Just Google homepage excerpts wordpress plugin and you'll find a bunch of them. I'm using
    Homepage Excerpts Wordpress Plugin

Once you activate it just click on it to set the length.

You can also try searching for plugins from your dashboard.

I use the evermore plugin to show only excerpts on the homepage. It basically replaces having to add the more-tag manually to your blog posts. If I only show the excerpts I will show 25 posts on the homepage, you can change that in your reading settings. When I show the full posts, I never go above 10.

There are themes that automatically will only show an excerpt, like the Studiopress themes and the Woo themes, for those, of course, you don't need a plugin to take care of it.

When your typing up the article, just insert the "read more" break - its a button in the visual editor. It looks like a small box on top of a larger box.
