Does my site load slow for you? - Help please

Hi Warriors - I'm looking to find out if my site loads slow for you.
I am getting mixed results - sometimes it seems to take up to 30s to load and at other times 5s.

If you could click and let me know what the response is for you, I'd appreciate it!

I have an adwords campaign running pointing to the products page and have also included the top level. I want to make sure my visitors aren't leaving because they have to wait too long!

Thanks in advance warriors!

  • Hi,

    First site 30 seconds.
    Second site 25 seconds.

I'm on a Verizon USB Internet connection. Not the fastest around.

  • I tried it and it seems to load pretty quickly - tried it on two computers with Firefox, Chrome & Safari. Both computers were connected via wireless to a router and DSL modem.

    Hope that helps!

  • Thank You everyone so far! that is helpful (and a relief!) Except 25 and 30 seconds for George! yikes - is that often how long you are waiting? or was mine exceptionally slow on your network?

    • Hey, It's better than DialUp

Actually this Verizon usb thingy is fast some times and slow most of the time. I cut my teeth on DialUp so I actually don't mind it. Like I said soooo much faster than dial up and it does everything just fine even if it's a little slow at times.

I'm one of those strange people who actually wait for a site to load anyway.

Back in the day on dialup I'd start a download and go to lunch.

  • A little bit slow for my liking, it took about 15 seconds.
  • i just tried and it loaded fast for me. took about 2 secs.
  • I think my eyes just exploded from the colors :\
  • It's neither loading fast or slow. It's just loading at the normal speed, I know you know what I mean. The speed at which a page loads is mostly dependent on the speed of the internet service. Of course, there are sites that load up really slooooooooow, regardless of the internet service. Your site is not one of them.

  • If you are concerned about the load speed, try WordPress › WP-Cache WordPress Plugins

    It will serve static pages.
    • [ 1 ] Thanks
  • Loaded in five seconds for me seems normal to me.

  • Loaded pretty fast actually. I think in 5 seconds.

  • Hey Christine,
Took 6 seconds on my Mac with Firefox and a cable connection.

You can go to HTML code help, search engine optimization and web site maintenance tools by NetMechanic.

This is a paid service but you can run it five times for free. You just enter your URL and it gives a pretty detailed report of how fast your page loads at different connection speeds.

After you hit the submit button to get your report your info will come up. Click on the "Detailed Report" and you will get all of your info. It's pretty cool and might help you.

It also show all of the image sizes and I think they still have a gif bot that will show you what your images would look like at different resolutions. You can click on one and it will send you a downscaled .gif which may make your page load faster.

  • The top domain took 7-8 secs, the products page about 5 s.

    I'm from Croatia.
    • [ 1 ] Thanks
  • could be a little faster, it's on the edge in my opinion.
Edit: Score 66/100 according to firebug page speed analysis, MANY external CSS and scripts. Well it really needs a fix since not everyone has a) Patience b) 16MB/s Internet

This is a WP site and there are MANY ways to fix this

Start with "WP Supercache" plugin - and use "WP Minify", two plugins which might increase your speed quite a bit! WP Minify would combine all those scripts and CSS files.

  • Thanks everyone - for letting me know how long it takes to load and for the great tools.
