It's amazing what you can learn, even if you think you are a (somewhat) "seasoned" marketer. The last few tips i read here on the forum in various threads. Some tips might be old and obvious - others you might not know yet.

It's amazing what you can learn, even if you think you are a (somewhat) "seasoned" marketer.
The last few tips i read here on the forum in various threads. Some tips might be old and obvious - others you might not know yet.
1) Banner images versus "in text" text ads
I have several niche sites where i mainly used banner ads to advertise products from clickbank. I custom made those banners and THOUGHT that people will buy like crazy. Yes, i got the occasional sale.
So...i added "in-text" text ads to my sites where i use the "easy adsenser" plugin and simply made TEXT ads which occur within every post. The good thing is, since this is not Adsense i have full freedom to design/word them and place them in any way i want.
For example, texts like "How to cure your migraine - try it now 100% risk free. Click Here!"
Sales are skyrocketing since i track the clicks and i see that the huge majority of sales comes from the text ads and HARDLY from the banners!
2) The "Secret" Method
Believing that i am good at ad-wording - still i had to realize that my ad wording often, well, plain out SUCKS. This applies to adwords, text ads or whatever i wrote in the banners.
I read some very good posts here on the forum about copy writing and wording of ads. One thing which was mentioned quite often was the "Benefit <---> Curiosity" thing...means to induce curiosity in the potential customer and at the same time mentioning the benefit of the product.
Another good post about this i saw on the truthaboutabs site where they compared "good" ad wording with "bad" ad wording.
He used that great example of using an ad which goes like
Unique 6 Packs Abs
I struggled for years with a fat
belly, until i found this 1 secret.

Now...realizing you can use the "secret" method with almost ANYTHING!
You can sell a software and talk about a "secret" which finally solved your problem, or some "secret" to cure this or that condition.
So i rewrote all my banners and text ads to trigger curiosity. Instead of "100% risk free, money back" etc. (which is all good an fine)...i now list the main benefit first..like "Cure your Hemorrhoids Permanently!" followed by a line focused around some "secret"..like "I struggled for years until i found this secret" <-- you get the idea.
Of course there are endless ways to word this with the main goal to make them click. What about "There is a secret to stop tooth grinding which the Doctors don't want you to know! Click here for more!" ?
The last two weeks since i did the changes my clickbank sales are great!
