I'm relatively new to IM but as with every new venture you always come up with questions.

Do you write your own Sales Letter, Sales Content for your squeeze page etc or do you outsource it?

Do squeeze pages really work or are web users becoming immune to them?

Cheers

I recommend you to outsource that job to a copywriter if you don't have experience...because your sales letter is one of the keys of your online business...

Squeeze pages work if you offer good value for their email and you give them a reason why you give it for free (such you want to show them the quality of your content so they buy your product...)

Squeeze pages definitely work. The more targeted the traffic the better it will convert. You also want to offer something of value. First impressions are everything.

As for sales copy if your serious about working online, higher a copywriter, your paypal account will thank you for it.

Most marketers just starting out will make an attempt at
writing their own sales letters and then ask for comments
    on forums like this.

A copywriter's fee can seem expensive when you are just
starting out, but turns out to be one of the best investment
in your business when it works out to increase your sales.

You must be able to know how much your budget can
accommodate and how fast you want to get moving.

At the same time if you don't know how to get traffic to
your site then even the best copywriter cannot be of
    much help.

    Hi Richard,

I write my own (but I'm a copywriter).

As mentioned above, you may consider outsourcing. If not, then study copywriting. You can pick up a ton of valuable books on Amazon for as little as $10 a pop. Look for books by David Ogilvy, John Caples, Joseph Sugarman, Schwab, Robert Collier, Gene Schwartz... etc.

You can learn more about copywriting by heading to this forum:

Finally, yep... squeeze pages work (assuming they do a good job of selling). Some IM'ers who are looking into copywriting start to feel immune to 'em. But I suppose that's like the person who works at McDonalds who isn't all that interested in eating the burgers there.

    Cheers,
    Becky

      Thanks for the reply's

I guess you are right about the McDonalds analogy, because I have been reading lots of sales copy in an effort to learn the ropes and gain some insights as to the different styles and directions some people take but have become increasingly immune to what's out there.

      Cheers

I wrote my own copy. If you are a good writer, definitely try and do it yourself.

Or, find a template and modify it for your OWN story and product.

Even if you are a kick ass writer (ahem), writing copy for your own services and products can be really hard because often you're too close to what you are selling to be able to really spell out why people should buy it (or why people should give you their e-mail addresses). This is one of the reasons that working with a copywriter can be helpful.

Squeeze pages can definitely work, if they are written and put together well.

If you want your product to be big... hire a copywriter.

    They're not cheap, though.

The $5 - 10k you spend on a great copywriter will quickly pay for itself in the form of increased conversions if you're throwing a significant amount of traffic at the page.

If you are not familiar with writing a sales page, you should outsource it, but in the mean time, try it on your own a few times, and compare it to what your copywriter gives you. Practice makes perfect, and if you do it enough times, you will get it right. In the long run you will be able to do it for yourself, but in the beginning, use the professional.
