Mass Email Desktop Software

Hey guys. I'm currently working for a company who's looking into an email marketing solution. I'm trying to sell them on either Interspire or Aweber but they insist on looking at a desktop software....which I have to admit...I haven't heard to much about.

Can any of you guys give me some suggestions? I'm going to keep pushing Interspire or Aweber but I want some desktop software to placate them.

IMC (Internet Marketing Center) used to have a desktop email program called Mailoop but I don't know if they still sell it.

I've used Group Mail by Infacta before. Reasonable cost, reliable and easy to use.

You might like to suggest that if they do go for desktop software that they get another ISP also as many will shut your account if they see to much activity. It would be horrible to see your office go Internet blind all of a sudden.

This is why I'm pushing for Aweber. I'm suppose to make a presentation tomorrow. Although.....yay day off from work!

Checking the T & C of the business ISP is all that's needed - then there will be no surprises.

    Hi,

One thing you can do with Interspire is sign up as a reseller - get $100 off - white label the system and present it to them with all their own branding. Interspire has been designed to be very easy to white label.

Info here - Interspire Partner Program

Then they wont have any links to aweber in the emails that go out. It's cheaper in the long run too as you own the software and dont have any monthly fees (other than your own hosting)

If you are worried about getting your IP blocked or your website shut down through spam complaints then you can use SMTP.com to run the mail system. Interspire have a list of recommended partners here - Web Hosting Companies Recommended by Interspire

    Cheers

I agree on checking with the ISP first. I used to use Mail Loop in the past, but wouldn't use anything like that now. I just don't think it would turn out in my favor.

Bolo, what budget are you looking at? There are simple ones to do just emailing newsletters and announcements etc up to full server based products that do everything including autoresponders.

The most reasonably priced solution IMHO is Neil's Autoresponse plus. You would need a dedicated machine in your office or data center but it could handle things nicely.

I've never used Mailloop - but I've used another of their products call World Merge. It doesn't do Autoresponders, but works fine for mailing out information to lists.

You can use the search function here to look up what others have said on the forum too - this topic surfaces quite frequently.

As other's have suggested you need to check things out with your ISP too - even if you're using a business class service and especially if you're sharing access in a building (like an office suites type of place). Hogging all the bandwidth will not make you friends.

My suggestions are either Autoresponse Plus, or a hosted solution like iContact or aWeber.

    good luck,
