I am stuck ! cant decide on a Niche

Hey Everyone, I'm sure this question has been asked many times before, but i have a sort of mental block as to what niche/sub niche to go for.

After reading and allot of research on how to choose a profitable niche, i basically have to choose something I'm interested in, and at the same time help solve someones problem by pointing them in the right direction (click my link! ) as well as to make sure these people are prepared to spend to get the info. I also understand that sub-niches are the way to go to laser target keywords to get targeted traffic. BUT

Most of the Niches i have explored or have found an interest in you can only sell physical products as there is so much free information on the internet that to expect someone to pay for a e book is silly. If someone tried to sell me a ebook in these Niches i would say screw u, ill find the info for free on Google.. I understand im not limited to digital products but the commission is way to low for physical products.

I Really want to "take action" but as i have read many times "95 % of newbies fail because they haven't conducted there market research properly" This includes selecting a profitable niche. and i would hate to spend hours of work creating articles etc etc etc on a niche that people wont pay for information. (digital products)

I know it might seem cheeky or lazy to ask. but can someone please give me a suggestion as to what niche to go for as a beginner. (i don't want to fail, i want to learn from other peoples mistakes instead of making them myself)

Or, alternatively, if someone doesn't mind helping me brainstorm ideas. (ill tell you what i think, and you can say Yay or Nay as i have no one to share ideas with)

Go over Amazon or Barns and Noble's website and look for niche idea from the category section once you kind of know what niche that you want go for then check the potential of the niche with following these steps to see if there is market for your products:
1. ClickBank: find at least 4-5 books on your topic.
2. Adword Ads: at least 8 ads needs to be running.
3. Keyword: at least 50k search for your main keywords.
4. Go to major book stores and find at least 2-3 magazines on your niche and check what kind of ads they running inside of the magazine. Also you can ask yourself which niche that you familiar with, like which social, industry, and professional groups do you belong to or have you belonged to, and understand?
Think about your physical habits, work experience and all the list of groups that you belong to. Another suggestion is your buying habits and online subscriptions etcetera.

  I would say don't worry so much about finding "the perfect niche." If you find something that someone is interested in, there are people who will pay for that information. You may not, but others don't want to waste the time searching google and not knowing if it's accurate.
  
  Instead you could give them what they're looking for at a reasonable price and build their trust. That way if they ever need some more information on that topic they will come back to you.

  Yes I am agree with you Jimian. There are no perfect niche on internet marketing business.
  
  And my advice to Suka, always follow the footstep of the Gurus and don't be afraid to try such new things/niche. Just try any niche and I confident that you will find niche that you like most at last.

It's not that silly, that pretty much includes 95%+ of clickbank products. People are willing to pay money for a solid product which guides them step by step, some may even recognise that they can get the info for free elsewhere, but if it saves them time and te whole guide / method is in onbe place then this is worth paying for.

I also agree with you that - why buy it when I can get it free - I think like this too, but many people don't - you are not your target market, you cant judge everything by what you personally think, so just like you should split test your sales pages and pick the one that converts best - not just the one you LIKE best.. you should also test things out and listen to the market not just your own preferences over buying vs finding things for free... look around the clickbank market place, most of the produts you can find for free and learn yourself... yet still many people are making good money...

It doesn't have to be something you are interested in although that is a bonus. I have heard of many people going into a niche that they had no interest in and doing well. Later on as their business grew they really came to like that niche.

The other thing is that people will pay for information on just about any subject. Don't let seeing a lot of free stuff stop you. Do proper research and create a product. Just because someone is offering something for free doesn't mean anything. In fact if you offer something that costs, the percieved value will be higher than that of free products. Make sure though that whatever it is you are going to sell is not just perceived high value, but actually worth what you are selling it for. Offer quality content and it will pay off.

As far as selling ebooks and you saying it is silly in some of those areas, remember a lot of people don't have time or don't want to take the time to compile the information themselves. A lot of people have kids they need to attend to or jobs that take all of their time. You can't look at it as how you would think because there are so many people with different busy lifestyles. Most of us go through the same thing you are. Just make sure to pick an evergreen niche. Meaining something that you can promote more than 1 sub niche too. Like health and yu can promote tons of things about getting healthy to all your list. If you go after just a micro niche like back in shape for people over 70 and build a list then you cant really promote rock climbing to get in shape to the same list, since most 70 yr olds wont be interested in it. Build a list on all things surrounding health.

Bottom line is build a list!

1st step: Become a War Room Member since you can find tons of free stuff that would normally cost you hundreds of dollars. They have pdf reports and videos on everything from building lists to getting backlinks etc.

Notice how 99% of the people that have responded to your thread and helped you out are all War Room members. Thats a clue ;-)

  Thanks for all the reply's guys, it has helped.
  I guess all there is too it now is to go for it and just keep at it until something happens.
  Work out a solid business model, set my daily tasks, and do them religiously for a couple weeks and see what happens.
  I have been on the verge of the "taking action" part now for a week or so but i seem to crave for more and more info, and then get frustrated and demotivated. I guess all i need now is to find a micro niche and a couple of products that WORK, and promote as best i can.

It's a nice topic, specially for the Newbies to be free from confusion of choosing a Niche. Many a times, Newbies like me, get confused about whether we should go for Niche or Micro niche. I can remember from a video tutorials, where the presenter said - it's a Myth that all should go after Untapped Niche ! he said with confidence that everyone can go after the one that is already popular in the market and people are spending for.

I'll check Google trends, Amazon, Ebay & different shopping sites to get an idea about hot market and niches of course.

You don't have to have an interest in, or be passionate about the niche you are in. You just have to be able to make money in the niche. You aren't limited to Clickbank products either. Amazon site shows you which items are hot sellers. Look into a product called IPK. I bought that and I don't normally buy info products but this was money well spent. Gave me a new perspective.

Ebay hot sellers is a good indication of good niches as well. If you find a niche that interests you and don't want to go with a Clickbank product, just Google "keyword" affiliate programs and sometimes you can uncover some very nice affiliate programs that you didn't know existed.

  I wouldn't worry so much about whether or not a person will buy an information product, there are millions being made everyday with information products...
  
  Personally, most of the money I've made online was from entering a large market (such as fitness) and digging down until I found a less competitive keyword, then building a blog around that keyword, then slowly building backlinks until it was ranking in the first page.....then I add my affiliate link.
  
  (Never add an affiliate link before your site gets indexed.)
  
  Remember, all you have to do is warm up a costumer and then send them to a high converting sales page... Let the experts do the selling.

Thanks! I read your post.. It makes allot of sense..

Pointless building a list of people within one "sub niche" and when your done with that sub niche, having to build a whole new list in a completely different market. what a waste.
Rather start right at the top, and work your way through the different sub-niches within the Market..

I think the other poster who advised you to think again on this point is on the money. You're correct in thinking why pay money for what you can find for free for on the internet but its this very reason why many warriors amke a living doing this game. People are in the main extremely lazy who want it serving to them on a plate. This is no different from the home owner who pays someone to mow their lawn and paint their house.

I noticed some years ago that technology development hasn't really taken humans forward. All it does is go into fancier TV's and more lifelike games and give people more to do when they have imprisoned themselves at their PC.

Ebooks are like this. People want their problems solved and packaged up by someone else. Its the "I want a pill for everything" response.

Your trying to get the best of both worlds...something your passionate about and that can make you lots of $$$. Not that it's impossible to find such a niche but I suggest you try to find something that you would actually want to wake up to in the morning. Nothing's worst than forcing yourself to work in a boring (zZzZzZz) niche that you hate.

I think it is better to start looking on the inside. What is it that you are passionate about. Something that you enjoy doing or working on. Then you can start looking on the outside and find the right niche to profit from.

You can visit Clickbank and Amazon. I am sure you will find something good. People want information and they are willing to pay for it because they want to improve their lives.

Like I said, let your inside guide you because there is a lot of information on the internet. Many offers are available and as you follow them all, you will get confused. Stick to what interests you. It may be information relating to the physical products in which you have interest.

i'm a newbie and i posted a similar thread about not being able to find a niche a few days ago.i got similar suggestions to the ones given here by fellow warriors.i'm still working on it and i hope i come up with something solid soon.i think choosing a niche is the biggest problem for newbies.thanks warriors!

You don't always have to have a huge passion for your market or niche but it helps. If you have a fair amount of interest and it's something you don't mind learning about than your good to go.

There is no need to love your niche or be an expert in it as long it's something you don't mind learning about and get some level of enjoyment from.

Lastly if you notice there are only physical products in your niche, that doesn't mean you can't personally start creating information products for your market in the future once you learn more about about their wants and desires.

For example you could create a product on how to you the physical product, or a location guide for using the product if its something outdoorsy. You could even just collect the best tips, tricks and resources regarding a physical product and create a type of resource guide.

Besides selling the above product you might just want to offer them as a bonus to those who buy the physical product through your affiliate link.

My perfect "niche" - is doing what I enjoy. After doing it for 30+ years, I have plenty of first hand experience, so I know a lot about the topics.

If you do not enjoy what your doing, then its time to do something else.
