My Thinking Outside Of The Box For The Day

I've been an Ebay seller for many years, and I pretty much know many of the ins and outs of it. I always try to apply my experience on ebay to other marketing ventures. Currently, as many you know, I'm promoting an album and new video. So today I got a breakthrough moment. I have many store listings that get regular traffic (domains). Why not post a feature auction on the header of my store that gets people's attention to my music endeavors? Simple, I decided to create a bizarre auction, selling a pair of worthless glasses worn by one of the characters in my music video. I paid to promote the auction on ebay so it gets attention in 2 categories. I don't intend to make a single penny on this auction, but the awareness is great.

This is what someone would see if they were to click on my store
Domain Names items - Get great deals on register domain name, web design items on eBay Stores!

If they click on the auction, this is the actual auction

    I suppose if it gets their attention then great. Sometimes doing something different will do that. Other times, people are expecting a result, and when they don't see it, they move on. You just have to decide how well it influences their behavior.

      Ebay is great for exposure. Many of the larger stores on ebay will have thousands of small auctions, which all point to/upsell to 1 or 2 feature auctions. It's a great way to funnel traffic.
