Calling all Newbies - I need your help!

INTERNET MARKETING

Hello Warriors,

I have recently made the decision to commit to producing my very own free product within the next 6 weeks to give away to my small list, my blog readers and to use for adswaps.

The thing is, I really want it to provide value to whoever reads it so it would be good to receive some feedback to help my research.

So my question is...

What type of help do you really need?

Business basics?
Blog set up and monetization?
Listbuilding?
Affiliate marketing?
Product Creation?
etc etc

I recently posted the same question to my blog (link in my sig) with my first attempt at a blog video (don't laugh - it was a spur of the moment thing and taken with my Nokia 5800

), and have had a reasonable response.

  The thing with article marketing is to produce a lot...and then write some more!
  
  Also, make sure you get your keyword research done - maybe consider a good software program to help you with this if you're limited for time - I like "Keyword Research Pro"
  
  Lastly, don't underestimate the power of the resource box. Take your time getting this right and, if your click through rate is low then consider tweaking it.

  Setting up a wordpress blog and how to monetize it is definately one of the subject matters I'm considering.
  
  The thing is, once that's done, driving traffic becomes ALL important.

  Are you interested in the content niche blogging side of affiliate marketing?
  
  Personally, I like using Amazon.com for content niche affiliate marketing.
  
  Reasons?
  
  Once people see you're affiliated with Amazon, they immediately trust you.
  
  The sales process with Amazon often means that the buyer will go on to purchase other goods that you're not even promoting.
  
  The only down side is the relatively small commissions.

I think what most newbies want is to make the first sale. If you can show them an easy and sure way to do it, you will have many fans.

  I think you can PM experts (i.e. in this forum) and set up a quick interview how he made continous sales. Man, believe me I've signed up TONS of internet marketing ecourses than you ever imagined in 9 months to get that "FREE REPORT" but 90% of them just tell THEORIES, not practical experience.
  
  I suggest you to write the experts' experiences on how they make sales. You can write something like "How (expert names) generates $xxxx.xx a month from a simple blog".

  Listbuilding eh? Good call. The thing that often gets overlooked IMO with listbuilding products is how to build relationships with your list.

hey, I find that a lot of people want low cost methods to make money. When I first started out I was on a budget and would look for free methods to make money without a website.

Technical stuff can be intimidating for noobies so you might want to keep that in mind.

Thanks for your comments. I couldn't agree more.

For a start my product will be free - you can't get much more low cost than that

I don't think I will be advocating spending a lot of money as I know what it's like when you first start out and I agree about not getting too technical as I would probably confuse myself!

Cliff, I don't need help with any of those things. Some people need help with all those things. The real question is, what do YOUR readers need help with? The people that follow you, your blog readers and mailing list subscribers, are the only ones who can answer that question for you with any authority.

I made my first sale this week, and so, now I know this IM thing works

, I want to know more about listbuilding and creating products because I don't have an opt-in page yet for my site (yea, yea, I know, I now realize looking at my google analytics how many potential subscribers I'm literally throwing away..it hurts me to even think about it) and I really have no idea what type of free product to create to get people to give up their email address.

Product creation? As you know, I'm just embarking on my first product so keep an eye on what I'm doing.

Listbuilding seems to be a very hot topic and it's where i'm leaning to right now.

I remember, one of the greatest things that had helped me since the newbie years is getting to know about where to start in blogging and making money -- it's finding a market that I'm suitable on or interested in and then pouring my knowledge into it. Since then, I kind of liked writing more even if I usually enjoyed much the use of video.
