How to Get A "Clickable" Link in Yahoo! Answers

Hello Warriors,

I know when you first start answering questions in Yahoo! Answers, you are not allowed to have a clickable link, but after a certain number of questions that have been answered/a certain level reached you are able to....

Does anyone know how many questions answered/how much has to be contributed/what level has to be reached in order to allow a clickable link?

You have to be Level 2 for the links to be clickable. To reach level 2, you need 250 points.

When you join, you have 100 points automatically added. And logging in gives you 1 point, answering gives you 2 points. Being voted as the best answer gives you 10 points.

    Happy answering!

I already have 127 points. Answering can be fun. You see funny questions sometimes, but I always go to questions where I can provide useful answers.

Even though the yahoo answer links are "no-follow", I think its an effective way to pass time.

For example, I do not have anything to do today because I am waiting on a keyword research project, so I am just answering some questions on yahoo answers and blog commenting to drive some traffic to my squeeze page.

Want to remind all the Yahoo Answers users that when you do a search, there is an RSS link for that search. I perform all the searches I'm interested in, with all the advanced criteria (like making sure the question is still 'open'), add it to my Google Reader, then smile as I receive the questions related to my niches delivered right to me.

Yahoo Answers is really fun. But be careful because I have encountered problems like being suspended and that account has already high points. I don't why when someone will report your answer as abuse it will automatically suspend your account.

There is a lot of people on there who answer questions without promoting anything. As soon as they see something promotional they report it straight away.

Just goto fiverr.com or ODesk.com and get someone to create you level 2 accounts. Unless you want to spend the time to do it yourself.. blah

I would be very very careful with yahoo answers. I followed some advice earlier in the forum, and started maxing out my answers on yahoo answers to work to level 2.

I would take my time to find relative questions related to my website, and answer them appropriately (sometimes writing paragraphs of information). And I would recommend the website casually.

Well right around 228 points (was getting close to level 2), I was banned. Yep, violation of the community guidelines.

So let this be fair warning, to be extremely careful when it comes to yahoo answers, review their community guidelines and watch yourself.

It doesn't matter how good your answer is, if you include a link (even if it's not clickable yet), you could get flagged.

With my experience, as long as you provide good answers, and don't spam your link with every answer (unless adding your link actually makes sense), you won't get banned. However, if you leave a link for a car website on a beauty/medical/web design question, then you are going to get flagged.

As for it Yahoo Answers works, yes it does, but not for ranking purposes. The links are NoFollow, and while those are important, I haven't noticed any significant ranking changes in my websites from posting my link.

However, Yahoo Answers is regularly searched, and often turns up easily on search engines. Because of this, it will be very easy for someone searching from Google/Yahoo/Bing to find your answer and your link. One of my websites gets almost only Yahoo Answers traffic (SEO isn't working very well for it, and I haven't spent that much time with regular link building outside YA).

One blackhat way of making this work for you is to make two different accounts. One account posts a relevant, easy to find question, while the other posts an answer with your link. At the same time, if ethics are important to you, you will look for actual questions. I did this once when I started Internet marketing, but I felt so bad about it that I got the question erased.

It needs 250 point to get the chance of links, so get more & more points by answering questions, By default yahoo gives 102 points to a new member.
