best way to capturing affilliates

When I look at sellers affiliate pages, all I see are just links tools with a few banners. There is nothing there to actually encourage newbies to promote their own products. So I have a few questions, that I haven't seen gurus done yet.

Should I have an autoresponder on affliate page, and send them email tips and free reports in followups showing how to promote my product?

If so, would a simple autoresponder be good enough or is there an affiliate script that specialise in this?

I usually do not open my products for affiliates to sell, which I really should do more of.

However the one product that I do push for affiliate promotions pretty heavily I do use an auto responder sequence. Not only that I give them some books about marketing for free when they sign up. I do this simply because 90% of my products are not in the IM niche. So the affiliates most likely have no idea how to sell on the internet.

After they sign up I immediately give them some affiliate related ebooks to check out that will teach them about promoting products online. Then I wait a few days and send them an email with an idea on how to promote it. Then I give them a few more days and send another, etc....

This not only gives them ideas on what to do it reminds them "Hey you signed up to promote this product! Here is what you should be doing today"

I found this method to work rather well.

I have another Twist to the story.

I always allow my customers to be my affiliates.

    but that's just the beginning.

I encourage them to become my affiliates through a special sction within the product itself. I train them on how to use the tools that I am providing.

Better than waiting for affiliates... huh?

Best is create free reports, each one promoting one affiliate product.

Post those reports on squidoo and other SN sites. Also you can add a subscriptionbox on landing pages to get email addresses so to follow up further.

If you are merchant, give free reports to your affiliates and ask your affiliates to brand them with their affiliate links and distribute them.

Best strategy is to have a reputation of paying affiliates on time and often! Nothing will motivate a super affiliate more than feeling appreciated for bringing in business.

Unfortunately, some people are setting up affiliate programs with no intention of truly rewarding the affiliate and think of it as purely a marketing gimmick. Treat your affiliate program as the lifeblood of your business and you'll eb rewarded by loyal affiliates for years!
