I am sick and tired of Being broke

Yes I dropped a niche, yes I started over, yes I refreshed my stats page 10 times, yawning. lol

I went from a niche that I picked strategically about something I don't know much about to something that excites me, inspires me and that I enjoy working on every day.

That's about it

I'm with Louise. I have a list of about 25 niches that interest me and develop them one at a time then move on. Each inspires me for a few days. But more important, each niche has high traffic or I can get to the core niche much easier than anyone else.

I feel ya with the pennies thing but I can always keep the goal in sight (automation once it is in place).

Title it, "How I Went From Sick and Tired of Being Broke to Overnight Riches!"

What a suggestion.

And suck another newbie into what he is? Not trying to be offensive but the guy himself is broke right now and looking for ways to make money.

I am yet to be successful in IM but If you are working from 7 am to 8 pm everyday and didn't get a result I guess it's time to find a new niche to focus on.

I'd suggest providing a service of your own.

MAN A: "I suck at making money, what should I do?"
MAN B: "Sell products teaching people how to make money"

I'm going to give this guy the benefit of the doubt and say that he was more than likely trying to be funny. The sad truth is, a lot of people when they start out trying to make money online sell information about making money online.

Let me give you a good piece of advice.

Think hard before deciding whether you should stop what you're
doing and start over or not.

I did that a lot of times when I was new. Most of the time I did
it because I tought about something, or read about something
that sounded better and easier.

Looking back I realize that everytime I stopped doing what I was
doing was a mistake. Almost every business grows over time. If
I hadn't killed those businesses, right now, I would have more
income streams.

My hats off to those who make money with niche blog and affiliate marketing. I looked at it a couple years ago and didn't see long term success. I am also very social and would have a hard time telling someone at a Chamber of Commerce mixer I am a niche blogger...

There are different online business approaches that have met with success, including:
-- churning out a multitude of sites to serve a multitude of niches, expressly to collect lots of pennies which add up.
-- creating high-quality niche sites with original content and driving traffic to them, monetizing with affiliate links.
-- setting up a review site, with quality product reviews since web users often want to review a product or service before buying it.
-- Putting up a website that features an ebook or application for sale, then driving traffic to it.
-- Creating a niche membership site and generating enough captivating topics that people join and get into forum conversations and create the content for you.
-- Web-flipping: developing and selling websites

When anyone has made money with any of the above methods or one not mentioned here, they will swear by it. Let's say it was guitars vs pianos vs jazz vs mariachi vs scuba diving. Starting to get confused? Good.

Finding the right niche can be very tricky. When you are just starting out, people recommend writing about your passion/interests. This only works if you have researched the topic and have 1) lots of ready, desperate buyers and 2) enough traffic to make it worth your while. If you don't have these criteria met, doesn't matter how much you enjoy the topic.

Good piece of advice above. You need the self-discipline to keep drilling on it. Especially when it comes to internet marketing. People are jumping from one thing to another wwway to easily.

Action-> analysis/assessment of results -> changing/improving what's not working- > action. And the cycle never ends.

....but, make sure you are actually making money online YOURSELF before you venture to teach others how to do the same....

I bet there are TONS of people selling eBooks about how to make money online, when all they really make money from is the sale of their eBook about how to make money online....

I've dropped a hundred niches and have a hundred more ideas right behind them. Some of them work and continue to make me money. Some die. Build it. Work on it. Then move on to the next idea.

I think everyone is experiencing such thing in their life as well. But I guess your just burn out so try to relax a bit and love your work coz in that way you will learn to appreciate all your hardship and you will have strength to move on to each work with a smile in your lips.

Never drop a niche. Add new ones. If it's not productive now put it in slow growth organic mode and move on to greener pastures. Come back 6 months to a year later and revisit the niche.

Oh, I've been in that boat before. I was once so swamped with article writing clients that as soon as I got done with everyone's orders, I took a break... a LONG break. I recently started again, but instead of paying another $20 for a Warriors for Hire ad, I figured, "It's in my signature, if someone needs something they'll come find me." So far it's working - I still get requests but I'm no longer overloaded.

Anywho...

I'm taking a different approach now. Not to toot my own horn, but people tell me I'm a good writer, so one very rainy day I thought to myself, "You know what, I like writing, apparently other people like my writing, I've had success writing articles but I'd really like to move from selling services to selling products. How about this..." Now I'm constructing a unique PLR pack (written 100% by yours truly). This opens several doorways - I could use it to build a list, start a membership site, etc. - but that's thinking way too far into the future right now. Right now, my concern is getting this PLR pack finished and ready to go. Once I see a bit of success from it, I'll say, "Great!" and start another one. On and on.

Moral of the story? Figure out what you're good at (or apparently good at) and put a spin on it so it plays to your strengths. As for your niche, figure out 1.) something you are interested in or at least know about and 2.) something people pay big money for. I've got two niches in mind - one very competitive, "proven" moneymaker niche, and another passionate niche that isn't as common but has a solid market. (Right now, though, that's too far in the future for me until I get this PLR stuff out there.) Don't overcomplicate it or overthink it, just figure out the A-B-C's of it and get going. Good luck.

I was like that too. Lost for a while. Got real traffic and but focus on too many websites and get lost eventually. Try to focus on one or two sites. If really can't manage, try to outsource rather than to lose it.

Never give up. Baby steps every single day, day-in and day-out, is the key IMHO.

Focus on a winning business model.

Stick with it. Take breaks. Go for walks when you get frustrated. But keep tinkering.

I once read in "Psycho-Cybernetics" that peak human achievement can be best likened to a torpedo released into the water.

How does it catch its moving target, which is doing its best to evade a direct hit?

It makes adjustments, readjustments and modifications in speed, angle, depth etc....but overall it remains on the same course, slowly weaving back and forth, making corrections until it hits its mark.

So it is with IM.

To give up on any method that is found within a winning business model before then is to be the torpedo that stops spinning its propeller 500 meters from victory.

If you're not getting the results you want, change how/what you're doing until you do.


I've been through about 30 different niches. Everything from koi ponds, to golf, to photography, to making money online... It wasn't until I finally decided on a MARKET that I enjoyed that I started really making money, and developing offers that I could cross promote and build upon..

And THAT is when you actually start making money.

Also David makes a great point. I'm not sure whether you 'got' his distinction and I believe Louis probably meant the same thing too.

It's not about looking for something 'interesting', it's about looking at what you fundamentally care about and are passionate about.

For example. You mentioned 'Self Improvement'.

That's just a generic term that could mean a thousand things, all of which depend on where, how and when you're referring to.

If it's just an interest - that's not what we're talking about.

If you have a child with self-esteem problems and you're passionate about understanding how to help them and provide that help to other parents in a similar situation - that's a different story.

You need to get involved in something that you would love to be doing even if there was no money. Something that you have a deeper reason to care about. Something that you will turn the TV off to take action towards. Something you love to do.

If you're spending the majority of your time doing things you don't enjoy just for the money - you're unlikely to be highly successful.
