Not sure if this thread is exactly in the right place here on the WF, but I have a simple question that I need answered if anyone knew;

I'm trying to make a video to upload to youtube using Windows Live Movie Maker with Windows Vista. I can do everything I have to make this movie and upload it but the only thing I'm not sure of how to do is how I can insert pictures into my video without deleting or interrupting the audio of myself talking.

At the moment the video is just of me talking to the camera and sharing tips related to my niche, I would like to insert photos of what I am talking about, then after the photos it would go back to myself chatting to the cam/viewers, then pan to another photo of whatever it is I am talking about.

When I try to enter a photo of some sort it stops my audio until after the picture then picks back up when I am on the screen again giving my tips.

Any suggestions on how I can do this? I hope I explained it allright, that was confusing to try and translate haha...

Thanks

  • Sounds like you need a video editor such as Sony Vegas Studio...

      I don't think you can do this with Windows Movie Maker. You need a video editor. this will allow you to insert pictures or whatever you want inside a video.

        Hmm, yeah I was afraid of that - are there any video editors you could suggest that I use? Preferrably one out there that is FREE, I can't really afford much at the moment.

        Thanks again for your responses.

      I do believe you can ad an image to the time line.
      Sorry to not have the best of answers to this however I'm not positive which version of Windows Movie Maker it officially is, all that I know is that it is the most recent version available for download as of 06/02/10 - which was when I just downloaded this. It is the version of Movie Makers where they actually took out the actual advanced technical timeline for editing and replaced it with some 'automatic' movie maker. So, I'm not sure if this option was ever available of if it even is with this version of movie maker.

      i dont know much about the winders movie maker. but in most programs you will need to import the pictures and place the pictures in the timeline were you want your video to cut to your picture.
      I try this and when I do, it does like I mentioned and plays the picture in silence before jumping back to me talking to the camera. I would like to be able to seamlessly add the photos without the audio of me being interrupted at all throughout the entire video. Really hoping this is possible to do because I already recorded and edited to the specifics I would like...now all I need to do is add these photos without ruining the audio or making my video choppy in the process.

      *sigh, anyhow - any furthur suggestions are highly appreciated, please let me know.

      Thanks again everyone, your a great help!
