Hey Warriors,

Here's a question I'm hoping you guys can help me out with:

When it comes to Private Label Rights stuff, what is it that you would
want to learn the most?

For me, it's "Is PLR even worth it?", but I might be an exception.

PLR mystifies me and it's not really something I want to get involved with. But if someone could explain to me what the heck the point of it all is, I'd listen.

      Hey ShaneRQR,

First and foremost, thanks for the feedback!

When it comes to PLR, I'd agree with you that yes, it is a mystery that's pretty much shrouded and not many people know about it...yet. On the other hand, once understood and fully utilized, PLR can bring about profits that's just so lucrative.

      Take me for example...

When I first got involved in PLR, I was under the impression that it was just selling re-hashed information and stuff. But once I understood the true power behind PLR, I was able to command higher prices and create products of high quality. My biggest PLR launch saw a net $65,000 pure profit in a single month.

Of course, there are many other ways that can bring about profits of this size in even shorter periods of time, but PLR, it's just another income stream.

You could sell me stuff that teaches how exactly you did it. Each step, explained in detail is what I'd like to see/read. Pump up the offer with a high (yet reasonable :p) price tag and I'm buying it.

I think a lot of people want to know - in detail - how to take a quality PLR product and create something new and unique from it.

This has never been a problem for me because I'm a writer and e-publisher and have been for years. I can look at a pack of PLR articles or a PLR ebook and immediately see several unique ways to use it for profit - and do so in a way that it no longer resembles the original material.

But less experienced people seem to struggle with this, and consequently they don't grasp the full profit potential of PLR.

            Hey MadWoman (cool nick),

Taking a quality PLR product and creating something brand new out of it is one of the key essence behind the success of using PLR stuff. Fortunately, you don't have to be that much of a writer to be able to do this. With plenty of writers out there freelancing, anyone will be spoilt for choice.

An aspiring product creator or re-creator I'd say, could just hand a couple of PLR products to a writer and say " Combine all the good parts into a single good product"

          Hey man,

Thanks so much for your comments!

That's what I have in mind exactly, minus the high price tag. It's no good pricing something too high imo. I'd rather price it at an average and modestly affordable level and place a exclusive restriction on it. My goal here is to help as many people as I possibly can do a couple of things:

          1) Start their own niche info marketing business
          2) Have a high quality product of their own to sell
          3) Make money.

      Hi Shane

There are many reasons people buy PLR, so I can't cover them all for you. However, if you can buy a PLR book for a few dollars that would cost you a few hundred to create yourself, then you may begin to see the attraction; provided, of course, that the material is solid, original and good quality.

How to determine, with absolute certainty, whether or not the vendor actually has the rights to sell the material on offer. So many times, they don't.

This is sometimes apparent from the licence files they often distribute which actually contain a clause to the effect that further distribution is disallowed.

In other cases it is possible to discern that the original licence has been changed from internal analysis of the text of the licence itself.

The only way you can be sure - in my opinion - is to buy your PLR directly from the creator. That way you can be sure the rights you purchase are genuine. Even then, the question begs another: how do you know the person selling is the genuine orginator?

Even some WSOs have been found to be faulty in the above respect; though generally, this is not a problem with WSOs. One of the requirements for posting is a WSO is that it should be genuine original material. However, even if this is the case, you need to exercise the same due dilligence over any bonuses offered.

      Hey WIll,

      Excellent feedback!

Unfortunately, when conducting business online, particularly in the information marketing industry, it is VERY VERY HARD to determine if the vendor actually has the rights to sell the material.

Unscrupulous vendors are EVERYWHERE. And as you've said, even if you purchase or try to purchase the product from the original creator, you can never be too sure that he/she IS the original creator.

These are exactly the same reasons as to why I NEVER EVER advise my private coaching students to sell a PLR product package as is.

One way to check when buying directly from creators is to get on their mailing list and be among the first to buy when they release a new pack, then check your articles with Copyscape.

If you're really worried about the PLR origin, do this a few times and you'll know whether or not you can trust the vendor.

Just remember, though, if you don't buy early, others may buy and post the articles on their own niche sites ahead of you. Still, the articles won't be showing up for sale on another site.

    Thanks for the replies!

So, do you just grab some PLR and, assuming that it's good, slap your name on it and go about marketing it?
If so, how's that much different from marketing an affiliate offer (apart from direct sales paying out more than commissions)?

Nope, that's a surefire way to DIE fast in the PLR game. Think about it, you ARE NOT the only one having that PLR product. Many others would have bought it too. So, if you are gonna just slap your name on it and market it, chances are you'll find yourself immersed in a blood-bath and a price war.

      Not good IMO.

What I'd like to know is where to get good PLR material.

I'm not talking about article packs, email copy or crappy eBooks. Video is what I'm looking for. And with high quality I mean stuff that's up par with the content Deiss, Filsaime, Pagan, etc are selling.

When PLR was quite unheard of in the marketing world, the quality was top-notch, number of packages sold low and prices high. But I'd be more than happy to pay $500 for a 3-DVD package with PLR. As long as the quality is high and there aren't more than 100 licenses sold.

          Hey Dave,

Obviously, video PLR content is something that is highly sought after. Unfortunately, if you are looking for something that's on par with Deiss, Filsaime and Pagan, that could be pretty hard.

Are you referring to the video quality i.e. effects, music, etc or just the content.

I've just sent you a PM. Take a look and let me know.

PLR is still good but it really depends how you use it. A lot of people are disregarding PLR products because they thought that those are junk contents. Remember, if you have a PLR material, you need to re-create at least 80% of it. If it's an ebook, change the graphics and the content inside. If it's an article, change and put some of your words and the construction of the sentences until it sounds better and natural.

A good example of a PLR material turned into my own product is in my sig, the title of the ebook is "PLR Content Riches", I changed the graphics and even the title so it would look as I am the creator of the product. Well, I am the creator of the product now since I'm the one who made a major overhaul of the product. That's how you really make money using PLR material. Change almost everything! PLR is just a guide if you want to start having your own product, so at least you will not start from scratch. It's just a guide for you to know where and how to start, give you some ideas as well.

    Bryan,

    responded to your PM.

Wendy, I totally agree with you. Most people just use the PLR materials as-is, and even sell the PLR the same way they first bought it.

And that's not only because of laziness, not knowing how to use the material is an important reason too!

An aspiring product creator or re-creator I'd say, could just hand a couple of PLR products to a writer and say " Combine all the good parts into a single good product"
This would only work with a writer who has some idea of the topic, though. For example, if you give an average writer a couple of PLR products about affiliate marketing - if they don't know affiliate marketing, how will they know which parts are the good parts to combine them?

I think the best way to use PLR is to complete change the format whenever possible. A good how-to book could make an excellent ecourse or even a fixed term membership, for example.

Don't be limited by what you see in front of you. A set of articles doesn't have to stay as articles and an ebook definitely doesn't have to stay as an ebook.

Alright, here's the scoop (it's brief tho):

      1) Find a niche that you would like to sell your own product in. You gotta know something about that niche, not necessarily in depth knowledge, but you gotta know some things i.e the language, the terminology etc

      2) Confirm the niche is profitable before anything else i.e lots of other products within this niche, lots of affiliate promoting products within the niche

      3) Head down to some super awesome PLR storefronts and begin your search for PLR products within your chosen niche. If possible, try to acquire all 3 different formats i.e. audio, video and ebooks. makes your job a hell lot easier

      4) Spend some time and go through all your newly bought PLR products and identify what to keep, what to throw out the window.

      5) Either spend some money, have someone recreate and put together whatever you have shortlisted or just do it yourself. Make sure you rewrite/reword every damn thing. It's gonna be your new product baby now, so you might as well make it darn good and new.

      6) Build a list of people who are interested in your niche as well.

      7) OFfer them free quality stuff and warm them up to your launch

      8) Launch the product.

      9) Sell off the rights to your newly created product for at least a hundred bucks more than what you charged for just the product itself. So if you charged 97 for the product, sell the rights and the product for 197.

There you go, there's just the brief outline of what I do.

Nope, unfortunately(or fortunately), this launch had nothing to do with Internet Marketing. I mean, hey, there's bigger money to be made outside of Internet Marketing man. Anyway, looks like the response for a infoproduct teaching PLR would be an awesome idea, considering a number of folks who replied on this thread seem interested.

Sure there is a lot of money outside the IM and related niches.

Man, in a non IM-niche you launched a PLR site and made a COOL $65K in the launch month and that was profit?! Amazing the kind of list of people (I'm assuming they're marketers, if they're buying PLR material from you) you might have had with yourself.

            OFF-TOPIC:
Bro, hit me up if you want to do a JV. If you're considering it (but I doubt you will), I'm a newbie (in that sense I'm just a nobody at the moment, making money online just by writing content and I have a full-time day job). But, I can do all the leg work - writing articles, creating videos, graphics design, writing autoresponder series, etc. The rest is, well, marketing and looks like you're all set with that too. Even a small % in rev. share would be good for me - at least I'm getting started in something BIG.
Or, is it that your list of customers who bought PLR material were actually IMers working on different niches?! More like the PLR membership sites kind of stuff that we see these days?! Just curious

      Hey Vwarf,

Thanks for your questions! Unfortunately, it is still in "mental-mode", meaning to say that I am still coming up with the contents etc. It could take awhile to get this product done, considering I'm a stickler for top quality.

Anyway, do read the post(s) above, I've actually posted a very brief outline of what I do with PLR stuff to turn them into money.

Oh yes, are you just intereseted in learning about PLR concepts or would you be interested in actually having a high quality PLR product to work with, further develop into something of your own and then market it for profits?

      Regards
      Lazy Bryan
