Why You Might Want To Be An Affiliate For Your ***Own*** Product On Clickbank...

Hello Warriors:

I have no idea if it's actually possible but, since the Clickbank TID system doesn't work for publishers (just affiliates), you could be your own affiliate and use it.

Since (I think) your merchant and affiliate id is the same for the same account, I guess it would look like this:

    • I have an inhouse affiliate program and I make up affiliate accounts to test campaigns.
      But not a great idea to pay clickbank pirates 7% to track it for me.
    • How would this be more expensive? You get paid as the affiliate and the merchant. Just in two different accounts.

  • Interesting premise. I would love to see my phpLD products on some affiliate networks, but I'm sure if this would work well or not. Hmm.

  • I thought you were gonna say it's because it increases the gravity. I know some marketers who register for many CB ids to make it appear as if more affiliates are having success They send various links to their list in sections.

    I don't, but it's done.
  • Yeah, create another ClickBank account just for the purpose
    of tracking sales of your own products.

    Create the nick as something like "tracker" or "trackme" or "mystats" or "onions" or whatever...

    Then... let's say you've got a free report on on, for example, your golf ball grooming site :p ... You obviously have links that point back to your salespage in there, right?

    Well, just run those links through a php-redirect (to make the links look pretty in the pdf; and to give you flexibility) and that redirect link is your hoplink with the appropriate trackingID (in this case it might be "TID=FREEGOLF").

    When someone makes a sale as a result of coming back to your site from your free report, that will show up in your CB stats.

    Then, because your nick is generic, you just add a different TID for, say, your Tango site's free report (e.g. "TID=GOMEZ")... or whatever...
