First $1050 Day In New Niche...Quite Satisfied!

This seems the week for little successes

Well...

Finally, after much persuasion, I started promoting some high end products ($5000+) in the last month, in the online jewelry market (no way am I saying what niche)

So I threw up my content filled squeeze page, offered a stunning free report (which I more or less got by re-writing in my own words articles from ezineartilces and then creating it in openoffice.org), and driving quite a nice bit of traffic from forums, content network (set to the main article directories) and google search.

It was really an experiment, but when my first commission came in for $225 it was definitely a lightning bulb moment, as usually, in the other niches i've involved in, that was the equivalent of 10 sales.

Then today, 7 days later, boom, 3 sales, just totalling over $1000 (the equivalent of 50 sales in my normal campaigns!!!!!)

Even though for the last 6 days previous...I made a big fat $0 in this new niche, I'm not complaining!! (keep testing and I'll crack it!)

So more money for more or less the same amount of work and approach

(1) Drive RELEVANT traffic to your squeeze page that offers a free report that truly reflects your visitors needs. ( Research, Research, Research!!) Relevant Traffic I got from forums, the google content network and a very specific google search adgroup. (For adwords, just make sure you have an About Us, Private Policy, Contact, Disclaimer, Blog in the footer for a good quality score). For those on a shoe string budget, write loads of articles with keywords that you would find in the late stage of the consumer cycle and submit to ezinearticles first, and then articlesbase.

(2) Then always offer 1-1 support via email in your automated follow ups (I recommend Aweber), that contain some killer info (which you can get from ezinearticles). Seriously 90% of my sales are made through the reassuring personal email reply. Folks, just don't expect a real reply, and when they get it, they are blown away (''this person really cares" etc). Relationship building at its finest.

Just do everything to give your visitors/customers the greatest value/service in their search for information and you will be rewarded.

Dare I say it, this is a business after all

Start going after the high end products pronto

Can I ask you how you find those high end products. In my searches, I found one or two that didn't impress me, but the others end up being the low end stuff. I am not sure what I am doing wrong, but my Google searches have ended up as duds, so far.

Congratulations on your success my friend. Keep up the good work.

Wow, that's pretty generous of you.

Will jump on it as soon as I finish my present campaign.
Do they offer subaffiliates? Coz if they do I'll sign-up under

          LOL I wish

Just to highlight my point, in one of ''proven'' niches that I've been in for a quite a while and have quite an emotional bond with I had another $1000+ day on Monday.

But...it was physically draining, constant emailing to around 60 people, 52 sales...eyes all red from staring at the laptop. (one of them had grit!!)

Contrast that to 3 high end sales from 3 emails in a niche that I basically knew zero about a month and a bit ago, and well there's no contest.

Time to start letting my head rule and not my heart

No probs, man, if the affiliate program was very niche specific then I guess I've declined, but this market is sooo big with nearly every niche full of juicy high end products...

Fantastic success story and clearly you deserve it based on the work you put into the sales. What I found particularly refreshing was that took the time to build a squeeze page, create a free report and then followed up with the personal touch.

Glad to see your efforts were rewarded. Also, that was very nice of you to reveal the affiliate source. I like how they show what the recent sales have been as it gives an idea of what is selling on their site.

    Respectfully,

Well I didn't look at it like a proper campaign so to speak (I thought it would flop bigstyle) so I kinda spread the writing out over a week at probably a 30 minutes a day. Related forums and ezinearticles really are great place for RAW content.

Just make a rough plan, write like hell, make it presentable and shove in a few aff links. (just make sure you're meeting your niche's needs)

However I will say, that if you just merely offer personal support, you can afford for the reports (I like to overdeliver at 25-ish pages) i think to be kinda 7/10 standard ( i do aim for 10/10 though), because a lot of the emails I got went like

"Jeff (my pen name in that niche)..thanks for the free guide, I'll look at later, just wondering what you thought was the best......

Nice work! You've planted the seed in my mind to go for the high-end products. I've heard many people say that it's just as easy to sell a low-end product as it is a high-end product. Would you agree with this?

What was your strategy for driving the traffic to your squeeze page? (perhaps the same as your sources for your report, i.e. ezinearticles, forums)

Over $1,000 in one day? Hey, if it took no sales for 6 days straight for me to make about $1,000 on the 7th day, sh**..I'd take that w/out hesitation! ;-)

Figure you'd make well over $4,000 a month ($1K on day 7, $1K on day 14, $1k on day 21, $1K on day 28) and I could easily live off of $4K a month no problem!

Oh..and thanks for the link to the affiliate program, really appreciate that, as I have not thought about jewelery as a perspective niche, but now seeing your success, I think it bears re-evaluating...LMAO!

        To your continued success!

Just checked out the affiliate program you're banking with,
just goes to show money is everywhere , I can't imagine

    Congratulations on your success Cian!

With a product like jewelery, I thought people would not really want to read reports
about it. What sort of information do you put into a report?

I thought a report would would be more relevant to an information product rather than a physical product like jewelry where the purchase is based more on look and feel. But obviously you proved that I was wrong!

Definitely, furthermore, we are programmed to believe that the higher priced a product is, the better it is. So people don't bat an eyelid, because for jewelry, they EXPECT the price to be high, a little bit unlike ''make money online'' where people expect everything to be FREE

Very interesting, I was actually looking at the James Allan affiliate program a few months back. I started doing some research but never got to the point of picking a sub-niche to go with.

I looked at different areas like specific anniversaries, engagements and so on and found stacks and stacks of competition.

It seemed at the time like selecting a really good micro niche would be super important. Sounds like that might be what you've done well and managed to crack the shell of this program.

    Nice work!

It ain't that small a niche, but because a nice bit of my traffic is coming from the content network (set to the main article directories), the cost are low, and to be honest I don't care about competition

Because competition = money being made in market

And as long as you offer personal 1-1 support and insane value you are trumping all the faceless and voiceless sites.

Oh to the poster who enquire,,,yep I'm from Cork boi!!

Bad phrasing, like, for managed placements you'd have ezinearticles, articlesbase, buzzle, hubpages etc. Hubpages are great for image ads btw. That what I meant by article directories

(Then once you're happy, you can branch out. I personally pretend I'm my ideal customer, so I do a few google searches, and I find sites/forums then on page #1 than have adsense or banner space, then they are very likely candidates to be added too)

Because basically the clicks you are getting here are search engine traffic, as articles have such high juice and ranking, so its pretty cool. CTR is low, but the niche is pretty big so the traffic i get is quite respectable.

You probably know this I'm sure but if you do a non placement campaign there's a nice
little placement report showing you where the clicks are coming from , then allows
you to grab a metric ton more viable locations all one swoop.

For sure, it's a great placement idea, you're dead right of course, you're
sort of getting content network prices essentially off indirect search.

All good stuff, really not played with content in years, but I like what you're
            doing with it.

I haven't tried selling high priced stuff yet, but what I will add is that there are some surprisingly lucrative niches out there. I found some junk on Clickbank the other day, but it turns out there's huge demand for something I did not even know you could do in the comfort of your own home .

I now more or less own this niche which is nice!
