Advice: Invest In Content!

This may sound like some boring ol peice of advice.. but if you're figuring out a way to make some serious money online, your best bet in the long term is to buy Internet real estate I.E Content!

AOL has just recently restructured their assets and are moving forward with a simple contant maximization policy. Yahoo just acquired Associated Content and is now negotiating with The Huffinton Post for a buyout.

On a lower level, for people like me and you who have niche websites, I'd suggest investing in a broad niche or two where you have a firm footing. Build(and keep building) massive authority content sites with articles and videos.

I can't see how a strategy like that can fail. In the short term I'm already seeing success by going the authority site route. In the long term, it can only get better as more content gets indexed and linked to.

A very big mistake newbies make is going after methods rather than building a solid media(after all the internet is one large media). Once you have a platform you can then sell! Be it affiliate products, your own products or ad space. You have to build the media first.

Methods will die out. Content will always stay.

    Excellent observations, Davioli!

From a business standpoint there's a big difference in investing in assets (high information, quality content) vs. spending on expenses (low information, cheap content).

It's also helpful to remember from a business standpoint that there's a big difference in investing in assets (high information, quality content) vs. spending on expenses (low information, cheap content).

You can sell assets for a (hopefully) higher price down the road....
I forgot to mention that... you make a solid point. Quality is an integral part of an authorty site, otherwise its just another lame article directory.

So true. I really don't understand how low info/cheap content remains as such a popular market.
