I was wondering which research tools you guys use to research a business niche to build a niche based blog/website.

I use:
Google Keyword Tool - keywords
Google Insights Tool - keywords demographics
Alexa - competition
I Web Tool - backlinks on competition
Yahoo link - backlinks on competition

I am sure there are other cool tools out there. Would love to hear your feedback

      Hello Warriors,

It is my first post here :-) Just wanted to say hello form Norway.

I've tried Market Samurai a little while but still find it to complex when one begins with a tool like it.
Haven't seen Micro Niche Finder yet. Could someone put some insights on it, please?

      Thank you.

I use market samurai and the google keyword tool.

+ I use 4 important questions when choosing a niche:

      1) Is there a huge frustrating need that this niche has?

      2) Are people in this niche activly searching for solutions?

      3) Are their lots of other options (competitors) that are easily accessible and readily available?

      4) Is the niche willing and able to pay for a $97 + product?

You can see my blog for more on this topic since I have made a number of posts on niche research. Either way, the tools you are already using and the 4 questions above are more than enough to find awesome niches!

I'm a newbie too. I got Micro Niche Finder after looking heavily at Market Samurai. MS was too complex for me to learn too...mostly the strategy part. My biggest problem though is determining a niche, not finding keywords for it. I just can't seem to commit for a market and go for it.
